U.S. & Japan Military Massive Coastal Defense Operation Exercise on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan

The U.S. Marines and Japan self-defense force conducted massive coastal defense operations on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan on Feb. 10, 2022. This huge joint military training exercise demonstrated the ability to secure and maintain control of key maritime terrain in support of sea control and sea denial operations as a stand-in force.

The U.S. Marines Corps, Army, and Air Force conducted joint reconnaissance operations to prepare the battlespace for follow-on actions. The training demonstrates the joint force’s ability to integrate command and control, expand battlefield awareness, and conduct long-range precision strikes as an enduring, stand-in-force for both nations.

This video also shows two Japanese Air Self-Defense Force F-15s, U.S. Air Force F-35As from Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, a B-52H Stratofortress from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, fly over the Indo-Pacific region during a mission, on Feb. 24, 2022.
