Read Faster by Reducing Subvocalization - Speed Reading Tips

Are you saying these words in your head? This video discusses subvocalization and the issue is creates with regard to your reading speed. Subvocalization is the voice you hear in your head while you're reading. The problem comes down to this... if you're saying all these words in your head right now... you'll only read as fast as you talk. And there's a limit to how fast you can talk.

The average reading speed and the average talking speed are exactly the same: 150-250 words per minute (WPM). You don't want to be limited to your talking speed. What about your thinking speed? You can read at the speed of thought by training yourself with a variety of speed reading exercises and by learning various speed reading techniques.

These speed-reading methods will help you read faster with better comprehension. It takes practice but these drills and exercises can help you develop a reading fluency that enables you to read faster in easy, medium and hard materials. Like everything in life, it takes practice.

Precisely, you're one of the few people who state this, most people probably aren't entirely eliminating their subvocalization, they are probably reducing it to a certain amount. Most people do not explain this concept as honestly as they can. Thank you for this video!
