A better way to summarise a book is:

Read the table of contents carefully, focus on the introduction, randomly flip through the pages, skim the important paragraphs, especially the first or last sentences, looking for any bold words, have a quick read of the last page.

I wrote a book review for my English teacher just like that. She never realised that I hadn't really read the book at all.

Speed reading is a thing, and our subconscious minds read fast than we are aware of, but this ain't it. If you've ever been reading aloud and accidentally said a word from later in the same paragraph, thats what happened. I have no idea what these kids are doing, unless they have a photographic memory they are understanding none of it.

this was the way I have always been preparing for the exams . Now I understood why I was failing.

Instead of saying "The faster you flip through, the closer you are to the universe", a teacher should say "The faster you understand the meaning of words in books, the closer you are to the universe"
