Apple M2 MacBook Air - Don't waste your money! Well, what I mean is: Be careful how you spend your money when choosing the Apple M2 MacBook Air.

PS.: It seems the video is dropping frames at largs so apologies for that. In a rush to get the video out it seems I used the wrong settings in the timeline. Hope it’s not too distracting.

That hub I showed to expand the storage and ports:

⚡️ I have my own shop on Amazon now! Come on over and have a look at all the gear I use to create these videos for you! I am always updating this 👊

To support the channel you can also use these links. No extra costs to you, but really helps the channel so I can continue creating these videos for you 👊

🎶 🎧 The jam I use in all my videos is from Epidemic Sound

The amazon links are from the affiliate programme so if you purchase an item I get a tiny percentage which goes into funding more videos for you, so a win win :-)

I tried the 14" M1 MBP, but it was too blocky/heavy for my use. It was a lot more powerful than what I need in a laptop. The M2 Air is perfect for my work as a writer. 16GB/256GB is right for me. I have several 1TB USB drives for extra storage if necessary. Great video, mate!

M2 8-Core CPU with an 18% improvement over last year gets you much much closer to baseline 14" MBP 8-Core CPU. This makes sense to add the upgrades and save money compared to 14", if you really don't need a larger screen size and more ports. Will be interesting to see comparison benchmarks of M2 Air vs 14" MBP baseline.

Yes, having that storage local is worth it. A FCPX project will often temporarily use a lot of storage locally before you’re finished and having the extra headroom is nice.

Help - University student, needing to run some semi heavy software - Idk whether to go for M1 or m2 air, as a pc nerd 16gb ram is crucial for me but it is costly so idk what to do

I am using Parallels on my M1 MBA. That's a scenario where the 16GB is worth the $200.

How much memory do we need for photoshop editing large files with multiple layers from a 100mp camera? I am not sure how much to get.

I'm considering one this with 24gb for light video editing. I also write a lot, and I am always on the go, so I think I will be fine with this one.

In 2022 8gb of ram doesn’t make sense, but if you upgrade your so close to price in the m1 pro 14” May as well get that instead

The most disappointing about the MacBook Air M2 is the new design (and the price !), I love the tapered design ! So I will keep my MacBook Air M1 for as many years as possible !!! Get a MacBook Air M1 while you still can...

Hello, Alex. I'm really impressed with your videos.

May I ask something?

I'm a freelancer who often works with Adobe Photoshop. Every day I use Photoshop 2022 to create carousel content on Instagram. I usually use a size of 10800x1080 px (10 grid size slides) with a resolution of 300 px and many layers. Sometimes I also make banners with a size of 3x4 meters.

Besides Photoshop, I also need the Adobe Illustrator application to open vector files from Freepik and then import them into Photoshop for my work.

With the budget I have to choose the base model Macbook Air M2 or the base model Macbook Pro, which should I choose?

I'm really confused. I want a device that is light to carry and good ports, while I don't like the touch bar on the MBP M2.

Thanks if you have time to help me.

Success always for you!

Plan on updating from a 2017 MacBook Pro 13. I feel like I could save money with the M1 air. Camera quality on the webcam isn’t that big of a deal for me especially now in Ventura you can just use your phone’s camera. I would like MagSafe charging, but again, not that big of a deal. Will wait for the reviews to start trickling in before I make a final decision.

I’m a dental student and I was looking to buy a MacBook for school and beyond. I’ve always been a PC/windows user my whole life but wanted to make the switch because I will have an iPad as well for school. The majority of my use will be watching lecture videos, taking notes and having multiple tabs open for studying purposes. Some music listening In the back and watching Netflix/movies etc in spare time. I will have heavy usage 10-14+ hours a day due to attending class and studying after hours. I’m torn on what product to purchase. I really am sold for the new M2 MBA but from what I’ve read everyone says the M1 MBA is just fine for my needs. My concern is, will purchasing a 2+ year old model MacBook at this point be a mistake? I understand it’s cheaper, but I want my purchase to last. Also, do you think I would benefit in a 16gb ram upgrade?

I'll finally upgrade from my 2012 MBP with Intel. I don't do heavy workloads like video's, music or coding, mostly just plain writing, watching movies and from time to time a basic game or two on Steam. I would like to (as you call it so nicely) future proof it with the upgrade options though. For that money there are MBP options but I simply don't require it to do things that justify getting the Pro (which gets even more expensive with further upgrade options). Which is also why I'm not too worried about the heat (fanless) because I don't think in my day to day use I will get to heat up the machine to its limits. My main goal is mobility and weight reduction so this M2 MBA I think is the best option for my situation. Any thoughts anyone?
