The country has been chomping at the bit for affordable all-electric vehicles and Chevrolet is finally launching their price-conscious Equinox EV. After all, General Motors has been in the EV game longer than most. Remember the GM EV 1?

So two and a half years after it was unveiled, we went to Detroit, Michigan to get behind the wheel of the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV for the very first time!

I just bought an RS with AWD and it is a great car to drive. I traded in my 2018 Volt and put $3000 down, walked out owning a brand new car for $20, 000. I got the $7500 and Massachusetts gives you $3500. I don’t do long trips with it, I have 2 other vehicles. This is a huge step up from the Volt, very happy with the purchase.

Glad to see GM actually delivering a moderately priced family EV with decent specs. There are many who said that this would never happen. Cars like this are how the EV revolution wins over middle America.
I can see the "EV purists" whine already that it's not as fast as 'brand x' or as efficient as 'brand y'. Doesn't matter, not one bit. People who buy boring ICE cars today will buy boring EVs in the future. Be nice to them.

$35k for this Electric Equinox. Not bad. But you need more trims to make this thing more reliable not just LT and RS. Other than that not bad at all.

I love seeing EVs like this one with actual turn signal stock and a digital spedometer that's in front of the driver. Tesla IMO has made simply functions in their vehicles overly difficult and the sparse dashboard cheap looking. Just because something is all-electric doesn't mean drivers don't appreciate similar functionality that they've grown accustomed to in the gas powered vehicles.

Instead of actually bringing out the "affordable" model for $35K first. GM in their wisdom release the most expensive model at $50K! Another smart move GM. Keep Toyota and Honda on top.

Attention KMART shoppers-GM had a stop sale on the Blazer EV for 2 months-why would anybody consider this trashcan? Not to mention trade in value falls off the cliff
when you drive it off the dealer lot-insurance is 3 times higher-tires wear faster and cost more-they never mention that.

I'm sure just like the ICE Equinox these will all be driven in the left lane of traffic at 10mph under the speed limit.
