Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS FWD a new SUV worth the price?

The Equinox EV is all new from Chevy for 2024. On the out side the RS features black accents, 21in wheels and full LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by an Evo-Tex interior, 11.3in infotainment system and digital gauge cluster. Powering the FWD Equinox is a single motor tyhat produces 220HP. Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS FWD a new SUV worth the price?

Good ol’ Dimmitt Chevrolet, the same dealership that tried to get a $100, 000 “market adjustment“ on a Corvette Z06. At least on this car they are “only” trying to get away with scamming people out of $1899 for a Preferred Customer Package (nitrogen filled tires, that ridiculous pinstripe, etc.)

Be sure you wear your body armor, and bring a whip and chair before trying to do business with these dealerships in Florida

Manual passenger seat controls, no sun roof, hard touch plastic in the rear, and no heated rear seats in a 48k. GM, you were so close!

The nice thing is the unlike the highly-troubled Blazer EV, GM did get the bugs out and got the Equinox EV to actually work reasonably well. The lack of Apple Carplay is not as much of an issue as people think, since it uses Android Automotive with built in Google Maps and Waze for navigation.

I'm assuming this gets the $7, 500 subsidy. Many dealers will handle the subsidy at closing. Great vehicle for retirees and those who drive less than average miles.

Joe is not that I hate electric vehicles but I would choose the gas version equinox instead the electric one I’m not feeling the front design, but the looks good to me.
I can’t wait to you do a driving review on the Equinox 2025.

Thank you so much for posting this, and I totally agree about the rear wiper blade. Any vehicle that has the spoiler over the rear window should have the wiper tucked underneath it.

Joe I gotta say the Blazer EV is quite handsome - and seems to be a thoroughly engineered vehicle. This Equinox isn't quite as convincing but still worthy of success. You're right on for giving credit to the EV1 - GM deserves more respect than it gets for some of its recent models, especially their EV's. Nice review !

I appreciated your candor about what you didn't like (and your sense of humor.) This LOOKS like a larger, extended Bolt to me. Much better cargo space and infotainment screen, but so much of it just screams Bolt.

Looks so sleek and stylish. Hopefully GM can continue making meaningful improvements over the next few years. For the price, it's missing some essential features. Overall a good direction for Chevy though.
