'20 Bolt owner here. I drove the Equinox EV FWD last month and really liked it. This model is not as quick as the Bolt but I'll take range over acceleration any day. It's quieter and feels more refined than the Bolt with a better ride. Much roomier of course, better seats and serious cargo room. 319 miles range (EPA rated) and faster high-speed charging make it viable for road trips. This Equinox might eat into Blazer EV sales, why pay so much more? We were considering a CR-V hybrid to replace our aging road trip car but may go with this instead. It's well worth a test drive. Great review Lyn!

Wow, 319 miles. That's great 👍 👌

At least they put a normal door over the charging port instead of that crazy door on the Blazer EV and Lyriq.

I test drove Equinox today and pleasantly surprised. Has good interior space and just feels good driving experience overall. Good job GM!

If Chevy was really trying to make EVs more buyer friendly they'd keep the Bolt around. Or something around 25k

This is competitive for range, price and size. It's the longest in the competition. Horsepower is less than all the competition, I drove the Blazer AWD and found it to be adequate, so this is probably about the same as they are very similar in size. I think you are only getting 3 years of the Google Apps, which is a big turn off for me, but not a problem if you are leasing. I'd look at this if price was my main concern and I didn't want to buy a Tesla for whatever reason.

Test driving one tomorrow. My biggest concern is GM quality. Update: Ended up buying the FWD 2RS. It's a great car.

California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Virginia have passed right-to-charge laws aiming to streamline the installation of residential community EV charging stations. Also, Illinois recently passed a right-to-charge law specific to new houses or multiunit buildings.

My Bolt euv -- with the N2.2 version of the LG chem battery -- has been surprisingly flawless; I didn't expect such good build quality from GM. I'll look at the Equinox ev when it gets the nacs port.

A few aspects I'm a little confused on:
1. The upcoming Cadillac Optiq is essentially a premium/luxury version of the Equinox EV. The Optiq AWD (standard) with a 85kw battery (same as the EQ), has a 300mi range, where as the Equinox EV AWD has 285mi range.
2. The Optiq has 300hp total, and the Equinox AWD is 288hp.
*Is there a software lock on the Equinox (range and horsepower) to make the Optiq more "premium"?

44k is on the lower end of the EVs? I think we need to talk about pricing lower-income people out of EVs. You can't have a dent in the global emissions when most people are not able to afford it.

Good looking EV. Range and price and competitive. I’m curious to see what the $35k version is like. But I think GM will lose buyers without phone integration. I’ve also read elsewhere that GM won’t consider the $7500 tax credit when you lease, only when you buy. Another knock against the Equinox. Hopefully GM will add phone mirroring in the future.

Most North Americans would choose the AWD model. If you do the math, Chevy is claiming a empty to full charging rate in 40 minutes or less. 0-100% is 40 minutes or less. Unless their claim of 70 miles in 10 minutes is misleading, or outright lies. You could never find a 0-100 charging test for these Ultium vehicles.

I like the looks of the LT version of this car over the RS version.

Send it to Europe at same price and I surely would consider to by one ! It looks like a car only difference is electric not a stupid space look thing. Bravo Chevrolet

Thank you for not mixing specs and price

I can assure this car is built to last. Our 2012 Chevy Volt is a daily driver and still works as new and battery has held up well

I live in China. Even though a lot of cars aren't that relevant in China market, I really like Lynn's car-reviewing videos.

Great review, and I’m really excited about this one. A lot to like here, but as a Bolt early adopter, I’m THRILLED that Chevy kept the regen paddle on the steering wheel. As an avid one-pedal driver, I use this A LOT, and it’s very familiar.
