Tony, I agree this is a simple fix, however can you offer any thoughts on how to get the door open if the latch is broken in the closed postion? ours is a GE

You mention how it "SHOULD" open, grabbing it Left and Right, giving a firm pull.  However, you DON'T mention what to do if the lock is LOCKED, and I Mean Fully, Latched.  I could sooner and far more easily tear the countertop away from its screws before I could EVER get this door opened by "Firmly" pulling from both, upper, corners.Maybe a few more options, for those of us who are completely latch locked and a little less Beer (Celebrating) until ALL of the door lock issues are resolved??

thnx for this video...I have a GE Dishwasher "SpaceSafer" GSM1800JWW...i did one wash and door wont open. When I research to see y, some suggested that i redo my wash might help to reset the timer. This washer does not have child lock so is not that.Do you think it could be a timer issues?? The washer sound normal with both wash, drain and dry...I waited a few hour to open it and it was still jam lock. The latch click but wont let go. Please advice what you think and i can do since i cannot afford any service call or replacing a new one. I just want the door to open up and get my dishes out. thnx in advance!!
