A stylist I work with said that if you don't love it in the fitting room, you won't love it when you leave. We are the most excited about something when we purchase it so if you're questioning it...just wait. If I keep thinking about it 24 hours later then I consider purchasing it. I do this with online shopping...just leave it in the shopping cart or wishlist. Thanks for the tips, Alyssa!

Is it love or just a flirt? That's what I ask myself 😅 flirting is nice but I'm the longterm relationship type with my clothes

The question I also ask myself is “Will this fill a gap in my wardrobe or be something that causes an item I already own to be worn less.”💕

Happily I'm able to make my clothes fit for myself. For example I added pockets to all dresses and skirts where it was possible, because I love pockets. I can tighten or shorten almost everything. So when something doesn't fit for me it's not a problem. 😘

As I tend to be attracted to similar garments, I ask myself "do I already have something better?" and quite often I do. It's easy to forget things hanging in your wardrobe because your eyes are dazzled by new stuff.

if i look back at the clothes i wore in highschool or in university i would say they were a waste because my style evolved and got more refined, but i loved them back then and in highschool wouldn't be caught dead wearing what i wear now :)) i think it's ok to let go of the guilt for getting rid of clothes that we don't love anymore and it also teaches us a lesson that our style can change even if we think it won't, and we have to shop the things we love now with discretion. great video as always and useful tips ❤️

I am so impressed with your consistency and the principled path of minimalism. Most of Utubers with catch phrases of minimalism tend to end up with buying new things, showing new products some of which are sponsored by brands. Cheers and keep up the good work. I am a real fan of your spirit and principle!!

I don’t feel like I have to always LOVE a clothing item to purchase it. Sometimes when you need basic black boots, or a basic beige shell etc, these items are by no means a “wow” type item but a necessity. However, when it’s not a necessity type item, then I have to love it. I am trying to shop my own closet too. I love your videos.

Love the video! I'm considerably older than you but just know that if you give up wanting to be the princess, you can still be queen ... that's always been my philosophy! Oh, and I could eat a whole jar of Nutella too! Have a great day!

With years came this wisdom - if your're not satisfied with what you see standing naked and without makeup in front of the mirror, you'll never be completely satisfied with your clothes, expensive or cheap.
Healthy self esteem makes even ill-fitting clothes look chic! 🤠

Since finding your channel I find that I'm even more picky about what I buy and why I buy. I look forward to your videos each week and love your blog💚

I ask myself "Will I just die without it?" Not just for fashion, but also impulse purchases like coffee and snacks. (Yep, I'm terribly dramatic.) It generally works, but I lose it completely at the plant nursery and end up carrying potted plants around hugged to my chest. They must think I'm a fool. I'm okay with that.

"Ugh to the tug." I've gotten rid of many clothes that I've had to keep adjusting as I wore them. When they fit well, whatever one's body is, one can focus on whatever is planned for the day! 😊
Yes to making at least five outfits...I buy solid colors and patterns. It makes it much easier to make multiple outfits. It's like Garanimals for Grownups! 😊 Thanks for yet another useful video! Your humor also makes it fun to watch.

Wish I could upload photos here because I have one of a huge Nutella jar (must have been 32oz) discovered walking the streets of Rome. :) I've been asking myself these types of Qs lately given current summer sales events. I've walked away from 90% of items that initially caught my eye. Have you done a video explaining different types of fibers (synthetic vs natural), how they wear/wash over time, how they decompose, etc? If not, I'd love to watch one. Cheers!

Great questions to ask yourself! I thrift shop more than regular stores, and I’m trying to get better at repurposing items once I bring something “new” home. Thanks for a great Sunday start! 😍

I too-often purchase items that don't fit perfectly, thinking that I will take them to get tailored. However, I'm usually so busy that I don't make it to the tailor, and I end up donating the never-worn clothes. I've wasted lots of money that way.

Thanks for the great tips!

Bravo! I’ve been thrifting for years and found and purchased treasures and found and purchased items that I should have left. All your points are excellent especially “Can you incorporate it into at least three looks.” One of my standards is am I buying ‘the idea of it’ or am I buying it because it looks great on me.
P. S. You should have the beautiful Italian blazer that stayed in Italy.
