All true! Thank you so much sir!! These videos and your suggestions is the sole reason I didn't need an attorney. Some advice to anyone: Dont be afraid in a court room nor be intimidated by debt lawyers, everyone is on equal playing ground even though it may not feel like it. Just think positive, keep your demeanor pleasant and remain humble. It's worth the fight! And the truth is, just showing up and knowing 1 or 2 of your rights almost 90% guarantees your advantage.

I went to court today, READY, for Midland Funding's lawyers. I go and the case was DISMISSED a week ago! As soon as those papers were served, I had my reply typed and in the mail the next day. They got hit with that 10-point verification request and said they weren't ready for me. I went online and got the Multi-state lawsuit and the one from NY that showed their shady practices just to debunk their "affidavit" and itemization.. They wanted to shake some leaves.. so let's shake some leaves!

I have a creditor attempting to sue the 2nd time. The first time, they were debt buyers, now they are "assigned" by the original creditor. Is that legal? Both times, I was never actually served! This 2nd time around, I got legal aide assistance. They said the process server handed the summons to me, described what I look like, said my lights were on, and I have dogs. The summons was on the door when I came home later on in the evening. I feel like the servicer googled me and found what I look like and used that to say they legally served me. Either way... this is just one red flag for this case.

I was served legal suit documents on debt. My wife and I hired an attorney. The collector had chain of custody of debt, we threatened bankruptcy and they backed off. They had no interest in going to court. We knew the debt was legit and were able to make payments "in good faith". They still won't accept a settlement, but they are reporting our payments to the credit agencies.

Personal items like jewelry and art, not exceeding $1, 000 in value
Items that you need for work, “tools of the trade, ” not exceeding $3, 000 in value.
$1, 000 in personal property or cash, IF you are not claiming a homestead exemption

Public and private pensions
Retirement saving accounts like 401(k), 403(b), and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA)
All of the principal and 90% of the payments from a private trust

I was so disappointed in this video. I was excited to learn what it took to be a debt collector. The video title says a client defeated a debt collector by saying this! But he never said what that this was! I was so excited to see a person of color giving advice I started the video I press subscribed waiting for the answer anxiously to come and he never said what the person said. It came off as a total scam I was completely disappointed. Simply put what did the lady say in court?
