I am clapping you on!! Before I graduated High School my Dad made sure that I knew how to protect myself, how to make sure my car was working & made sure I knew how to pay my taxes! Hahaha! He went so far as to signing me up for classes, on the weekends to help out learning about drills, or our church had a on call where you could call in if one needed help with your property/fixing easy things where we could go & help our elderly in the best ways possible. Sometimes they just needed to see a friendly face! :) & made absolutely positive I knew how to deduct numbers from my monthly paycheck to help me not to invest in our Government but to invest in myself. Good for you!! You are a role model! Keep up the good work! 2 Thumbs up!

Last year we went and bought me some power tools ( my husband is totally blind, so he didn’t have any power tools except a drill)
Used my new tools to build my raised beds and fence

Those crystals in your barrels are tartrate crystals, that's what you use to make cream of tartar :)

I love herbs ♡ They are so essential for good cooking. But when you mentioned "strawberry mint mojitos" my heart skipped a beat with excitement 🤣

You're doing amazing for just your second year gardening and all the storage of what you grow, it's very inspirational, loving your videos! Next time you could just add leaves and twigs in the first bottom half because your herbs don't need that deep of soil. And/or you could just put any type of dirt to build up the depth in the barrel and then top it with one bag of potting soil, it's cheaper that way.

Becky, I know this is an older video but, hopefully you’ll see this.
Whenever I use a pot for growing, I always add a layer of rocks on the bottom of the pot BEFORE I add my potting soil. This will help with the drainage and not clog the holes at the bottom.

Love these barrels. I grow my herbs along my garden fencing. I got some "balcony" flower pots (those long ones) and hang them along the fence, to save space in my tiny garden :)

Hi, a safety tip. When using potting mix/soil it's best to either wear a mask or, if your hose has a spray option, dampen the mix when you open it. Inhaling the dust particles from potting soil can cause Legionnaires disease, which is a lung infection. Love your videos!😊👍

I always put a convex chunk of broken terracta pot over the drill holes so they don't get plugged. A bunch of stones in the bottom is a good idea too, and other fill as others mentioned. Love, love, love your content. Cheers!

Love your garden layout. Get yourself a journal or note pad to keep a history of what you plant, where, how it does etc. It really helps the following year to determine what you will or won't grow. You are doing a fantastic job. 😉❤️
