I guess I lucked up. Our puppy is 12 weeks old. We got him at 10 weeks and with the exception of the first day he goes outside consistently. We take him out every 2 hours and repeat "go potty" and he goes within 1 minute we are outside. So proud of him, he is the best!

Just got a new puppy and I never thought it would be so hard to train him. He hasn’t peed outside once. I’ll keep trying though

I have a new 8 wk old lab puppy. Today is her third full day at home. I know she is young and potty training requires work and consistency. I take her out every time she leaves her crate, wakes up from a nap, after eating, and when she is exhibiting signs of having to relieve herself. I take her outside to one spot, stand still and don’t say anything. She is distracted by EVERYTHING!!. Leaves (it’s fall), dirt, grass, rocks. I’ve cleared the area as best I can. She is always sniffing or trying to eat something. After about 5 min, without success, I take her inside. With in 30secs she is peeing!! I mark the behavior with a loud “hey”. It does not stop her void. I know it’s early but I want to make sure I am setting her up for success. I live in a small rented house that only has one patch of grass so I can’t find another area with less distractions. Is there anything I can do to help her beside consistency and time?

We’ve marked the accidents just as you’ve described and we’re STILL having accidents almost daily. He’s 3 months. It’s been six weeks of this. We are religious about taking him out and watching him. It’s like he just doesn’t care. He’ll do it in front of us. What are we doing wrong? Our Great Danes were trained in a week. Are labs just not as bright when it comes to this!?

I do all of the things you've stated. I have an 8 year old yellow lab and she cracked the potty training within a week when she was about 10 weeks old. However, my 15 week old black lab pees anywhere and everywhere. He only has access to certain areas of the house and he gets my 100% undivided attention, and if I can't give him 100% due to being busy, my husband and kids give him 100%. I take him out in the garden between every 15 and 30 minutes and he usually always pees, yet still does it in the house in between garden trips. When I catch him mid pee, I say 'ah' and clap my hands 3 times, pick him up and put him in the garden. By this point he doesn't usually do anything in the garden as he's already done what he needs to do in the house. He doesn't have a particular spot in the house...anywhere is fair game. He never gives any pre warning, he will literally just drop and squat wherever he is at the time. He's better with his pooping and gives us warning for this and rarely does it in the house, but his peeing inside is out of control. We'll have a couple of days where he'll only have one accident and we think we're getting somewhere, then it'll be a week of non stop peeing and we feel like we're going backwards. It's so frustrating!

Thankful to read all the comments. I have a 5 month rescue, small/medium breed. She is really good at letting me know when she needs to go but it's sometimes every 30 minutes. The only time she goes longer than an hour is when she's asleep. We have tested everything in the world and she has a clean bill of health. Vet thinks she is simply drinking more than she needs. We are working on half filling her bowl and redirecting when she starts gulping water. Completely exhausted 😅

Thank you for making videos on this... I haven't had a puppy in 13 years and we just got 2, a brother and sister. My old lady was incredibly easy to potty train when she was a puppy. I'm talking ZERO accidents from the get go! Never let her have an opportunity to have an accident. But now I have 3 children that also need my attention, so potty training has been a bit of a challenge with the female pup (male only has an accident if I miss him trying to tell me or late to getting them out, but I will take her out and she will go and do her business... Then we come back inside and 5 minutes later she is squatting to pee 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️). I didn't realize potty training could get so frustrating!

My puppy pees all the time inside and when I catch him and take him to the right place he doesn’t pee because I did it already in the wrong place 🤦🏽‍♀️

I stood still in 1 spot and he went to pee. I should've watched your video before getting him, now i know. I will definitely rewatch this video until we both get it right. Thanks 🐾🐾🐾🐕🐕🐕

Thanks for video. I have two border terrier puppies at six months. They are very good at pooping outside in the yard and learned it very quick. But peeing in the house is another thing. They are put out after every nap, after every meal and first thing in the morning for at least half an hour. But even after they have been in the yard for half an hour they still come indoors and surprise you with a pee. We are just about pulling our hair out, We were both born into families with dogs, and we have had dogs all our married lives of over fifty years. Our dogs in the past have always been German Shepherds and usually Jack Russell terriers together, but these lovely little girls have been the most difficult to potty (pee) train. They are surprisingly intelligent and learn easy except for Peeing in the house. I wish we had as much energy that they have, very tough dogs. Again thank you for video, we will keep on trying.

My puppy doesn’t pee in her crate. She barks for us to take her outside. But if she’s in the house roaming around, she won’t alert and just pee
