I loved your video, im trying to train my 8 week old jack russell puppy not to bite, ive tried saying no or ouch and it seems like he doesnt listen and does it harder or pounces on me, i wonder if you could maybe give me some tips on this as he is doing it multiple times a day and night, thank you in advance

this gives me so much reassurance, me and my parents recently adopted a 3 month old beagle and he’s obsessed with biting us to the point of leaving marks and sometimes bleeding, it hurts but it’s nothing unbearable.. i thought i was doing something wrong😭 thank you for this!

That looks like a well behaved puppy. Mine is snapping at me and drawing blood. I play with her and she gets more and more worked up. She also doesn't respond when I yell, she just goes harder. Help!

Finally someone says redirection does nothing for puppy biting. I've always thought that, and done the "I'm gonna make my hand in your mouth an uncomfortable experience until you're desperate to pull away" thing and it WORKS. With some breeds, they might grow out of it. But working dogs and herders/protectors especially will not get the point with simple redirection. It's bogus.

When mine bites me I just bite him back

When my dogs were puppies when they bite us especially a hard bite I use to grab the scruff of the neck or put them in a uncomfortable position until they calm down that did the trick. I don't mind light nipping as long it doesn't get out of hand.

I'm not trying to stop the simple teething, I'm trying to stop the aggressive biting and rebuttal once corrected and lack of biting inhibition. The breeder lied about the birth date and I ended up with a 6 week old Rottie that was separated from his mother at 4 weeks. He is now 8.5 weeks.
He responds aggressively to all forms of correction AND praise without control except for food. Once the food is gone, it's immediate attack mode. No toy hold his attention for more than 30 seconds. It's your arm, leg and clothing that he will chew on for hours.
