Once even the slightest symptoms appear its too late and death is certain and horrible death awaits

Rabies (hydrophobia) is really death the hard way.
An infected person has an exteme fear of water, which if enters the the mouth, the throat closes up like a vise causing severe pain(even if the patient has a raging thirst) and making breathing impossible. Biologists tried to eradicate this viral infection for over 1000 years. Because the mortality rate is extremely high >99% death is inevitable.

My sister heard a racket in the yard. She opened her front door and a coyote was standing between the screen door and her. Her dog then attacked the coyote who had bitten 2 of her goats in the yard. The coyote was shot and killed. They had to cut off the goat's head and send it in for testing. It tested positive for rabies. They had to quarantine the dog for 3 weeks and they both had to have a series of 10 rabies shots. Everything was okay in the end but they no longer kept goats after that. (Rabies shots used to be very painful as they were injected into the abdomen and there were 14 shots. Now it is 10 shots in the arm.)

Make sure you are vaccinated before you show symptoms (incubation period), otherwise it's too late.
