More than 20 thousand people lose their lives per year in India because of Rabies. Most of us assume that rabies occurs only when a rabies-infected dog bites us, which is half the truth. Like the video and let's understand the journey from getting rabies infected to reaching the death bed.
Rabies is a zoonotic disease, i.e., it travels to humans from animals. 99% of cases occur because of the bite of a rabies-infected dog.
When a rabies-infected dog bites or scratches you, the rabies viruses present in the saliva of that dog, enter your body through the wound given by the dog.
Rabies develops in three phases.
Incubation Phase - The viruses present in the wound start to replicate themselves in the nearby present muscle tissue, and increase their population within a few weeks or months.
Prodrome Phase - After the initial replication, this virus infects your central nervous system and travels to its final target, i.e., the brain through the spinal cord. Within 2 to 10 days of the central nervous infection, fever, headache, and fatigue-like systems start to appear.
Neurologic Phase - You start to get afraid of water because of the neurological damage caused to your brain by the virus. Because of the continuous brain cell damage, a person goes into COMA and ultimately loses his life.

Mujhe rabies dog ne bite kiya tha or next day wo dog mar gya.. Bite krne k bd 2-3 hours k andar maine infected area ko soap or floating water se clean kiya..or vaccine li pure doses as prescribed by the doctor..or 1 saal hone ja rha im healthy😊😊 Turant precaution lo kch nhi hota.

Hydrophobia aur aerophobia ho Gaya matlab last stage 😢 no reverse back. Wash your wound as fast as possible, apply antiseptic like Dettol or savlon, and run to the doctor and get vaccine. Pao pe kata tho 7 10 incubation period, aur upper body PE kata tho 2 se 3 din. Don't take rabies lightly, it is more dangerous than COVID.

This is a serious issue, not to mention the news we hear about kids getting mauled by street dogs. There should be proper facilities and adoption practices for stray dogs.
Make a fenced area preferably away from schools, parks, residential places then capture the street dogs and leave them there in fence and care for them. Maybe even have a small vet and specialized dog hospital there.
