I have endeavored to change my fuel injectors in my 2000 Corolla. It has been a wild ride with the injectors leaking due to the injector o-rings tearing or getting chewed up. Thankfully, I have a lot of spares and I have gotten better at inserting and lubricating them. I finally managed to get the injectors to stop leaking but then I was hit with numerous low-300 misfire codes plus P0172 (running too rich).

I read up on the misfires and the lower seals needed to be lubricated so I used Vaseline. No more 300 codes but I still have P0172. LTFT goes down to -26%, which is quite ironic considering I've been dealing with P0171 for the longest time. The car idles softly like it may sputter out when I drive slowly or stop

I assume this rich condition is from all of the excess fuel that went into the cylinders/engine from dealing with the recurring leaks and lifting the rail up and back so much and gas going into the port holes. It's not like it was a water hose or anything but still a decent amount over time as I couldn't run the engine with the injectors leaking.

Will this rich fuel condition work itself out with the engine drying on its own the more I drive or what can I do?

Thank so much for this information. I have a question for you. Can an accident to the passenger front end cause damage to any of the fuel injectors?

I have an Excursion over 320k miles on it with the original fuel injectors. What’s the recommendation to changing these as part of regular maintenance?

Wow! You are very well versed and smart! Can feul injectors cause intermittent stumbling and transient rough idle. I've been replacing just about everything, including catalytic converter (oem), for the last 15 years on my 2005 chevy express 1500, , to no avail. Also, , sometimes very rough starting and other times very easy. I'm out of ideas and money, , Please help 😢 - 😊

Can a bad injector cause a long crank to start?
If I turn the key to on and off and on and off then try to start it it’ll start right up.
No check engine lights. No codes. No misfires.
I’m leaning towards fuel pressure regulator but I’m not a very good mechanic lol

I have a Dodge Sprinter van with Mercedes 6-cyl diesel that following a bad rear end accident has been producing unburned fuel odor. Mechanic had the intake cover off and we saw fuel residue around one injector. Is there anything other than the injector seal that could be replaced to fix it? Any type of connector or seal on the fuel line where leaking occurs?

I have a 2020 mustang and had the po303 code for misfire and I replaced the spark plug, coil and fuel pressure sensor but it’s still misfiring, could it be the fuel injector?

I have a question, I have a 2021 Sorento. I’ve had two fuel injectors replaced and the fuel pump replaced. My car has 50k miles on it, why would I be having such issues? The dealership isn’t being very helpful. Seems excessive to me.

Hello, and thank you for the informative video. I'm hoping you can give me some insight into a problem I am having with my 2015 ford flex limited. For the last couple of months my flex has developed a stutter between 25 to 45 miles mph. I can see the tach jumping during this stutter. The problem is I am getting zero fault codes. I assumed maybe clogged or bad injector. I have run several tanks of premium fuel and added techron fuel system cleaner to it as well. No changes at all. Am I incorrect in my assumption or is it still a possible injector problem and how would I diagnose which injector. At idle no miss is detectable. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Why would anyone swap fuel injectors to begin with when to swap the coil and the plug first that would be the easiest way to go about it you will never ever swap a few injector first because then you’re putting yourself at risk of breaking an injector or a fuel line and or both ripping the seal. You would never start with a fuel injector. You always start with a spark, plug and or coil and if you that doesn’t solve it, then you move the injectors who directly goes to a few injector when they have a misfire that’s crazy to assume it’s an injector right away before testing the plugs and coils
