How can you be an automotive journalist and have the speed tolerance of an 80 year old woman.

"If your gonna spew, spew into this"

The guy did a great job hitting all the nervous track guy characteristics.

Can we start a gofundme to get this woman some help?

I have watched countless motor trend, Car and Driver, and /Drive videos. While those other channels have great production and their own brands and voices, none are nearly as fun as this. From the Microphone screwup turned into funny chipmunk sound effect, to the super tips these channel is the funnest autorotica on the ol' yub tub. Keep it up.

This guy reminds me of that nervous drug dealer in Better Call Saul

"I don't know if I'm not shaking anymore because I'm not nervous or cuz my heart stopped." ... pure gold right there!

Jalopnick is basically a car channel with hipster Americans. It's actually kinda sad seeing a grown man act like this especially where I'm from

the instructor make me laugh!
he's completely relaxed while the driver is panicking!

You might need to ask Patrick about the best Camaro he ever drove.

That last quote killed me "best camaro I've driven, "😧

If this journey culimates in Michael Ballaban winning a Le Mons race in the coming years, I will cry like a goddamned baby.

Michael just looks like a Teddy Bear. A Teddy Bear in a Golf R, that's so cute hahaha

I enjoyed the comedy aspect although maybe a little too heavy with the timid persona.  Me and you have had some issues over the years Jalopnik, pair this with a legit average joe track day introduction series and we can go down the road to mending.  Hope this bodes well.

Great to see Drislane on YouTube! A very good friend of mine, a super professional guy, can drive the wheels off anything he's been given to pilot and yes, will scare the pee out of most people who have never been on a track ( and even many who have). Best memory of his skill for me was him piloting a 15 passenger van, hammer down,  loaded with clients to explain Nazareth Speedway in PA....pretty sure almost everyone lost their cool guy, very good driver and a great friend!

I have not been on a track in a couple decades and it would take a half day to get the yips out at least. Very funny and good on you mate.

Nice video, good humour! Such a pitty most people didn't get the comedy part in all this. Loved it!

Hey @Jalopnik, next time, if you're going to switch between "outside" and "inside" footage, make sure the "outside" footage matches with the "inside" footage. When the guy with the orange helmet was driving and the instructor with the white helmet was on the right seat, I could see the very same orange helmet on the right seat on the "outside" footage.
