That was a heartbreaking and excellent performance from Christopher Plummer. I think he was madly in love with her. It was heartbreaking watching his expression when you can see his realization that this time he really lost her n the heartbreak when he closed the door behind him. We are so privileged.

On one hand, William Robinson truly was interested in making Elise McKenna a star of her own right and you must admit, his actions were truly pure and honest, as that was all he wanted to do for her and her life. On the other hand, he was quite overbearing and to over protective with his concerns about Elise McKenna's involvement with a man she finally fell in love with and made her happy for the first time in her life.

Love sometimes inteferes with other people's plans. The manager did not want her to fall in love so he could control her. But human beings that we are we are emotional too and cannot decide who we shall love or if the relationship is convenient or not. And if a conflict appears love is usually the winner. After all none of us is willing to sacrifice what is worth more like love just for the sake of a profession. Some people do it but they are never really happy. Love makes one willing to take risks to lose what one has attained or it isn't love. It changes us and our priorities.
