Underrated by critics. Watched it when I was 15 and fell for my wife 7 years later b/c she is a Jane Seymour look alike. Honestly, we have a story book marriage going on 30 years now:)

There never has been and never will be a cinematic classic to equal this one. Totally immortal. If Rachmaninoff had seen this film, he would have dedicated his 'Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini' to Elise Mackenna.

God, i fell for this movie the first time i saw it in 1996, such a beautiful tale of love but yet the story is hopeless and tragic.I just love the part when he is driving and he sees the hotel and he stops his car to check in, the street everything is so nostalgic, but the part that gets me everytime and touched me deeply is when he saw her portrait in the hall of history...the look on his face as he realized he knew her from somewhere and some other time, the hairs on my neck stand every time i see that scene....this is my favorite movie of all time, i just regret deeply that it had a tragic ending, every time i watch it i hopelessly wish it will have a different kind of ending and those two will live happy ever after....
