Matt, thanks for rescuing my old truck. A friend and I built that Nissan and had many successful 4x trips, mostly in the Shaver lake area (mirror, swamp etc..) Broke an axel once and never had any other problems. I sold it to a guy that said he wanted to run the rubicon so I assume he was driving it. New owner fix it and hit that trails again.

That Rubicon rescue was my favorite. You can't beat the scenery, and you all had great teamwork. Thanks to all of you for being who you are and doing what you do. Nothing better.

No better way to spend a rainy Friday after New Years than watching a Matt’s Off Road video. I live about an hour from the Rubicon trail head, Grass Valley, and did the trail back in 85 with a 1943 flat fender with a F-head four cylinder and 31.50 tires. What a blast but boy has that trail changed over the years.

Matt's explanation of the importance of an area expert is definitely on point. In an emergency situation without an area expert with you then you would not know where you could get cell phone signal in order to call for help. That is if the area expert actually knows where those places your cell phone has signal are. And there is also other reasons for an area expert to be with you.

That was Colby doing his mandatory camera-man stunt @48:58 — Trevor would be proud of him.
If you were in this situation again, could you remove the tailgate completely? The winch cables could swing into the bed without doing any damage that way.
I give Kaulin a hard time in the comments sometimes, but he was a star in the Rubicon recovery. I bet his forearms were pumped and burning with lactic acid, but the lad didn't complain. He would have been thinking 'I wonder when one of those lazy buggers is going spell me? and they never did. Kudos to Kaulin for being a trooper, and all he had to fuel that teenager's always hungry body was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Tons of respect for Caulin
When he said
" my dad "
I am sure dad is happy and loving it

78Jeep CJ7 on 33's W/ Detriots... The Rubicon is Heaven on Earth. I will never forget those runs. What a treat it is to see your CREW buiding their memories, they will talk about it for decades. Great shotting/editing, the details were well presented. No doubt my favorite channel. You've done well Matt, thank you

Twas a trail lunch fitting for Tom!! I got really excited when I saw Tom's smiling face in the second rescue then I realized which rescue it was ( a re-run ) but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it again. Christmas came early this year with a super long super video! 👍👍 Two thumbs up team. Happy holidays to all.

Dear Matt with the wonderful crew👍. I have only driven offroad in my job with hydrogeological and geotechnical engineering, towing equipment like drilling rigs and other equipments for soil- and rock samples on offroad trails out at the work site in the woods and the mountains. I have no clue if the Rubicon Trail or Hell's Revenge is the most difficult one. I haven't driven any such trails, but only just followed the Heavy Wrecker and the Trail Master together with their wonderful teams.
In reality I don't understand how anyone dare to drive on any offroad trail balancing on the edge of 300 feet high cliffs, I'm deeply impressed with the highest respect guys. Thanks, with the best wishes for a happy Christmas from some of your Norwegian friends🎅

That wrecker just keeps impressing. Good job to all of you. You got pistachios again? That's some cool beans... So to speak... And yes, OUR GIRL Caitlyn is a trooper.

1:20:14 An old trick my Dad taught me ... was to keep a spare fan belt ... that went from Water Pump to Crankshaft ONLY ...

You remove the water pump pulley to install it .. but you can drive till the battery is dead in an emergency!! ..

This works if the power steering pump bearing or the alternator bearing fail. :)

Good morning, got called away for assistance. Enjoying the tag along on the Rubicon. Matt finally scraped together enough for a jacket, I'm very satisfied with the quality. Still going to get a couple flags for my jeep and a couple decals. Don't think I'll ever be able to get a rope or shackles. But one can dream.

It was so cool that Matt hooked up Colby with the Morrvair and it seems like he was relatively left alone to enjoy the experience more than work. That's one of those things that he'll carry with him wherever he goes and does. Got to experience a bucket list which he'd prolly had loved in a jalopy of sorts except he got to also experience it in one hell of a rig. Kudos, Matt. Stepping aside and letting them all go at it is something awesome.

Whiskers to the rescue! The beast rescues the beauty! LOL! Once Bombi has some tweaking it'll be back to work as usual! I can see the engineering wheels in Matt already
turning. One thing with Matt, he won't accept defeat without a fight! Thanks for a great video!

A timely reminder why these tracked vehicles needed some upgrades. Snow time must be almost there, so hoping the upgrades equals some reliability. Nice job on the rubicon, team.
