90 Second Civics: 1st Amendment

Do you know your Rights? During Freedom Month we will be going over the Bill of Rights to ensure everyone knows the basic rights our Country was founded upon! Starting with the 1st Amendment.

Yes every American citizen has the right to say what they want to whoever they want whether it offends anyone or not all speech is protected Congress cannot make any law ABRIDGING the freedom of speech or of the press therefore no one can be punished for anything they say whatsoever. Only Congress has authority to write and pass law the first amendment prohibits them from passing any law criminalizing anything any citizen says.

I was with you right up until the end, when you started basicly even though citizens have freedom of speech we really don't and implied that right should be limited.

There is no limitations whatsoever in the first amendment.

A great vid except one thing you need to change the part where you say American rights and say Human rights aka birth rights. These rights are not given to us by the constitution but by our creator, whatever creator you believe in, the constitution just made them in to the law of this land. The rights spelled out in the bill of rights apply to all men not just US citizens. For if we are a just country we must be just to all of our fellow men not just those who are our countrymen.
