I don’t understand how Allen’s video is getting backlash. All he’s saying is some people claim to be a Christian and are genuinely not Christian’s and if you have no fruit you may want to re evaluate yourself.

I think wrestling with sin and willfully and knowingly participating in sin is two different things.

My thoughts: instead of “should” or “must” I would say that genuine faith “naturally”produces changed behavior. Even if I still struggle with sin, faith in Christ makes it a struggle, whereas before it was a pleasure.

This video was incredibly encouraging to me.
These subjects are ones I think about a lot as a believer who is currently still struggling with my own addiction. The doubt and fear that I’ve had to battle only leaves me…well, doubting and fearing. It’s a dead end. But God’s grace, mercy and kindness, and the kindness of brothers and sisters in the faith surrounding me stir up this amazing hope within me that it’ll be okay and that God is maturing me one day at a time.

Someone once told me you can't lose your gift, but you can give it up. In other words per your example, your son can give up the skates.

I admit, i wasnt living like a Christian whilst claiming it. I was idolizing things, living for the world, sleeping late. I started to love the world more than God. I started to develop a fear based view of God in an attempt to forsake my sinful ways. I was doing all the religious duties, but i was just a hearer and not a doer. I found myself in a performative state, and i felt like everyday during that time to "stay saved", if i slipped up, i was riddled with anxiety. I eventually got burnt out from performing and i started to get angry. I've recently come out of a period of chastistment from God, and im not going to lie, ive been kind of scared of like doing anything because im scared of messing up.

Glad someone is finally saying the truth which is not everyone has grown up in a healthy Christian environment. Not all of us have an instant healing and our healing is a process. If some people could even spend a day in another person's shoes they would have a lot more compassion.

This is the disconnect I’ve felt with a majority of believers honestly man. We talk about being new creatures but the process of sanctification isn’t always revealed by the “mature leaders” and that makes this back and forth game of confirming to the image of Christ a lot more shame based and performance based. And many many believers hide their struggles instead of bringing them to the light because a lack of vulnerability in many many leaders. THANK YOU RUSLAN!!!! This is the content we

This is such a powerful video especially around conflicting desires. People don’t understand the daily struggles that others face and it’s “Gods Grace” that we all need to feel thankful for. I couldn’t agree with you more Ruslan. Thank you for sharing

“If you COULD lose your salvation, you WOULD lose your salvation… PERIOD”- John McArthur. We all sin, and we will NEVER be worthy of this gift we have been given. Luckily for us, we don’t have to be…

When we are saved, the Holy Spirit lives in us, so He changes us so that we bear good fruit. If there is no good fruit, if there is no change, there is no Holy Spirit.

“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Unrepentant willful habitual sin doesn’t work like that- i think Allen is right on that.

There is also a danger of producing works for just the sake of good works without it being genuinely through faith.
Its a complicated issue and somewhat of a mystery.

God bless you brother

I completely agree with Ruslan here, saved by grace through FAITH alone.

One issue I believe is being left out of this discussion is the backend issue of free will. “Struggling with sin” is very different than being indifferent to or even celebrating my sin. Can a Christian return to a place of indifference toward sin? For me, the answer is yes.

Most people think salvation and sanctification are the same thing. They are not one in the same. Sanctification is a process.

I can see Allen’s point. Bc I too early on had sort’ve a “ticket punched” belief in Jesus, but never let the gospel change my heart. Lackadaisically responding to Jesus, and simply agreeing He is real, and died on the cross for our sin is different than putting all of your faith and trust on Him alone. Something changes at the point of salvation. You start to not see sin the same, yourself the same, most importantly Jesus the same.

James 2:18-But someone may well say: show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

I appreciate this video SO MUCH! Because I used to follow "The Beat" religiously, UNTIL I watched the video you are going over now. I do believe ALL Christians are going to heaven. And the Scriptures you just shared in this video, are my favorite Scriptures to prove, once your saved, your saved forever. In fact, it is because of God's work through His Son on cross, and my faith in His Son, saves me and keeps me saved.

Excellent video bro! Well articulated. I totally agree. Lost pastor friends to self deletion and Christian bros to addiction as well. I firmly believe we all meet again! We should encourage and help people with their struggles with becoming sanctified, not fear monger into change, as well intended as it may be. 🙏
