Really great idea! I loved you slatted wall and it caught my eye right when your video started. At first, I thought you would change the stain on the wood round. I'm not sure if that's doable though. I think you should put the slats back on the wall, but not sure how you would coordinate the wood colors. I noticed one of the pillows on your couch was a similar color and your wood round. I think this color added a nice diversion from all the white/cream color in the room. My vote would be to do the slat wall again and match the stain from the wood round. This is not a criticism, I'm just giving my opinion for what it's worth. Your ideas are stunning and I'm thinking of doing something like this. So, thank you for your very nice and detailed tutorial.

I would suggest a bolt and notch method so you could take the top off and use the pot for magazine storage or something
