The BEST & EASIEST way to Cut a Watermelon - It's the Only Way

I've scoured the internet for the best way to cut a watermelon and so far this method is the hands down winner. I've been doing it this way for the last couple of years now and have never looked back.

I always rinse off the outside of the watermelon (and other melons) before cutting them…

Was trying to find the way I learned from Chef in recent cooking class (since I forgot) and this method of trimming the watermelon was how they taught. Also seems the safest for not cutting oneself.

After shaving it. Cut horizontal layering it like Floor 1, floor 2, floor 3, and maybe floor 4. Then do your vertical cuts!

Sorry bud...if you had the longer (12'') knife and a larger cutting board... you can turn it into 1" cubes in under 3 minutes. You cut off the ends, peel it whole then cut it in half lengthwise... then lengthwise vertical slices with your hand on top... finish with bisecting cuts across the top and slide into you container. Repeat for other half.
