For some of these that say, "I was too nice and she got mad at me." I'm really worried they mean, "I engaged in stalkerish/creepy activities and she told me to leave her alone."

I swear the only time you really see 'bad boy' used outside of nice guy nonsense is in YA novels, teen shows and movies. It's a trope not really something that exists. I have never used the phrase 'he's a total bad boy' or anything similar either. Like the only people I see using it outside the YA blurbs is nice guys. So I totally agree with ya Vincey, they see films and decide that's what women want and assume it all. And those movies are usually written by a man too!

Fun fact: One of the earliest known vacuum cleaners was so large that it had to be hauled from house to house via a horse-drawn carriage. Its giant hoses were popped through the windows of a house, and then a gas-powered motor generated the suction that pulled the dirt and debris into a glass container. The Facebook meme is one more reason to be glad that I deactivated my account there in the beginning of the year, shortly before that I started noticing those types of memes in some of the groups I was part of.

I think part of the reason why NiceGuys exist in the first place is because of the unrealistic expectations from movies people internalize and maybe it's part of the reason many men get anxious when they're still virgins after a certain age (the fear of missing out the high school and college experience basically)

"Don't stay friends with your crush" after you shoot your shot, is my mindset. The thing is once you show that you're interested in a person and they reject you, don't keep staying friends because it runs the risk of complicating things. There's certainly an imbalance for one. If you like a person and they don't like you back, it's easier to make silly decisions in their behalf, and it's easier to get manipulated for sure. If you do stay friends, just be cautious and keep your head on straight.
