The friend zone is so weird, considering those guys girlfriend zone us first. Like they become our "friend" because they want us romantically, and we just think they wanna be friends.

I remember being in high school and going through a similar phase. While I'm glad that I grew out of it, I still think back and get flashbacks of how cringey I was. I pretty much just use that as fuel now so that I don't become that person ever again.

Last night I was at a small town bar and this guy who was flirting with my friend came up to me and was like “a pretty face gets you nowhere” (talking about himself) and I said you have to be a good person to match it. He started going on and on about “I’m so nice that my friends get mad at me” “I’m such a nice guy” “I’m so nice, why won’t anyone believe that I’m a nice guy” “I got my heart broken a few months ago because I’m so nice” and i couldn’t help but laugh the whole time. I was so brutally honest and said actions speak louder than words, no one who’s really nice has to say they’re nice. He had two different girls mad at him that night (including my friend. Never saw any other examples of him being nice or not nice but I could tell he was a nice guy in the wild. Immediately wanted to come tell the vincey community 😂

I've gotten my girlfriend watching Vincey videos and since we're largely long distances, it feels nice to know she's watching them too. We can still discuss the really horrifying or wholesome things even when we're not snuggled on the same couch. Even with an ocean between us, it makes her feel closer. I love how the core idea of “nice guys” is that you have to be an asshole to get with women, because they themselves are the living proof that that statement is false. They assume all guys with girlfriends are the most hilariously stereotypical Disney Channel bullies and spend their time insulting, hating, and blaming all their problems on women, but they can’t get any action in the bedroom. Like- dude, you aren’t getting rejected because women like douchebags, you *are* the douchebag

Last time a guy tried to get me to call him daddy I gave him a bill for past due child support with interest; filing fees; etc, his 2/3 of all medical expenses until I was 18, plus 5 years worth of piano lessons and choir costumes (since my parents divorce decree said he was responsible for half of extra programs and 2 thirds of the medical expenses) and asked if he'd like to pay in cash or credit. Funny how I've never heard from him since.
