As a lesbian and asexual, that one story hit me hard. I've had guys act that exact way toward me, from strangers to peers to guys I thought were friends. Literally nothing will stop them from being gross to women, even when they're the total and complete opposite of 'sexually attracted to men' lol

The first post is giving me flashbacks to my previous job.

I was working on an all-male team (besides myself) and we generally got along fine. It was a bit weird as all my co-workers all had some mental or physical conditions. Either way I was feeling like shit close to Christmas with a stinking cold; I'd dragged myself to work since I needed to be there to get the last orders out before the postal cutoff date.

I was sitting there just minding my buisness, half dying from the cold, a coworker came up to me at work and literally pulled out a sprig of mistletoe on me. I was already feeling like shit and that turned my mood even further. I turned him down flat, twice. Things were weird and the one gay guy picked up that something was going on; I eventually explained and swore him to secrecy well I made my point clear.

This other guy goes to my boss and apparently when I was out on my lunch break my boss threw a fit and nearly chucked the culprit down the stairs. The culprit was given a verbal warning and was told he was very lucky I didn't report sexual harrassment. I don't think he actually meant harm since this came out of the blue, but it was a bit and inappropriate

The staff in the MBB story were beyond stupid, and could've been caught up in a liability suit. I get the strong feeling the former cop owner would have reinstated herself to arrest and fire them if she found out what they let slide.

I'm asexual and these stories remind me of all the times where men would say "I just wanna get to know you" when all they wanted to get to know was my body. When I state my boundaries and whatnot, they call me "cold hearted" and just make me the bad guy. At some point, I just stopped caring; I use their name calling as a "of course I am" type of response/attitude. Showing them that I'm "cold hearted" for a that makes sense

I saw 25 minutes and thought it was too long but then I realized it was NiceGuyStories instead of NiceGuys so I'll make my review.

Story 1

0:34 when OP said the guy makes really inappropiate jokes I immediately thought that he is the kind of guy to say some nasty stuff but cry when someone DARES to say something about it

1:12 That first question and every question after that were extremely weird. Yes, those things tend to be important in relationships but that's the thing: in relationships. That guy is a nobody to OP

1:38 ''I've been nothing but nice to you'' if being nice is something you need to bring up, to throw in everyone else's face then chances are you weren't really kind and even if you were you had hidden reasons to do so, making it not authentic

2:12 Not feeling well doesn't imply being sick. But a 6 hour drive while not feeling well might actually make someone sick

2:43 This supervisor is waiting for something really bad to happen ain't she?


Story 2

It's not you, Vincey. The OP in the last story was using references and terminology specific to their work as though everyone automatically could understand. That's detrimental to their readers understanding them, because one needs specific knowledge to parse their shortcut jargon. Still, I understood enough to be grossed out.

This video was especially helpful. I just got back from the park and a nice guy tried to convince me to go to a restaurant with him and give him my number. I said no, I have a boyfriend but thanks for the offer. He refused to listen and said it was just as friends but proceeded to touch my hand and my face and wanted to wrap his arm around me. I was visibly distressed but that did not bother Mr nice guy.
I came home and I felt so bad and was thinking that it was my fault for being to friendly. Assertivness is not my strongpoint.
However, when I came back and saw your videos on nice guys I felt much better that other people are experiencing the same and that it was not my fault. I could laugh at other noce guys and it seriously made me feel better.

I notice a lot of "nice guy" think every girl wants to be dominated and by whoever, when in fact that's very much not true, and even if an individual have such kink, a lot of respect and trust for the relation have to go into the dynamic, and everything is done with consent, not by a random persom

Hearing some of these stories helps me feel less alone. I tried to help out a coworker going through a really rough time. Honestly, I’d never known anyone to experience as much death in a single year as him. I tried to shake him off after a month because this dude was giving me weird vibes abs I didn’t appreciate his texts at 3am… but then his brother became terminally I’ll and I felt bad for trying to get rid of him. I convinced myself that his narcissistic gaslighting was just his grief and him going through withdrawals and I put up with some really heinous conversation for a while. This was also right after my old friends had ghosted me so I was pretty lonely. I went to his brothers funeral as promised but I blocked him after he tried his shit again. I hate that I put myself in that position. Felt like I had suddenly became responsible for a man 10 years my senior. Even his mother told me it was my job to keep him from committing suicide because she was done with him. I’m 24.
