It's somewhat unfortunate that the showcase by thebluecrusader barely scratches the surface of the engineering involved in HBMs Nuclear Tech Mod! Take a scroll through Savage Vegeta's videos and you'll see PWRs, BWRs, RBMK, enrichment facilities, complex steam cycles, etc. :)

The radioactive block at the beginning was schrabidium, a thought up ore that is highly radioactive and can be done by transmutating natural uranium and putting the schraranium in a processing machine to get schrabidium nuggets. And the "deep cleaned ore" is actually from verily processed bedrock ores. Bedrock is an unbreakable block at the bottom separating the world and the void, and to get the bedrock ores you need a large mining drill. The discarded bomb green stripe isnt actually about the radiation, But abotu the radioactive so called material called balefire; Balefire is a very strong and radioactive fuel but when you pull it out of the dud it comes out as shards. Balefire can be used in making rocket fuel and nuclear fuel. If you need any more info ill be checking the comment pretty regularly from today to tommorow.

Edit: No way i didnt know if i post a comment atleast somebody will like it.

the ZIRNOX name comes from the fact that the reactor uses zirconium clad fuel rods instead of magnesium ones. what the showcase didn't get into (but you could see briefly from one of the fuel rods shown) is that the mod has the even more impressive RBMK reactor which is fully modular and roughly simulates things like heat movement and neutron flux between components

In fact, in the mod you can use several fuels in reactors, and by far the reactor that has the most fuel options is the RBMK, it can use natural uranium, medium enriched uranium, high enriched uranium, it can use plutonium, americium, and even fictional fuels like schrabidium, australium, the most powerful fuels are flashlead and balefire in the case of the RBMK and schrabidium in the case of other reactors, flashgold and balefire are the best in the RBMK, but also the most dangerous, if you make a small mistake the The reactor turns into a giant cannon, to control them you have to be patient, and if you raise the control bars a little, it is enough to generate a lot of heat and energy, I personally use my balefire reactor at 10% in my world.

NOTE: digamma is not a good fuel in terms of power, and is better for neutrons, and digamma is more used to generate byproducts that are essential in the progression of the mod.

Edit: Fun fact, LEAus and HEAus (Low Enriched Australium, and High Enriched Australium) are fuels from the RBMK reactor, which are not radioactive but can undergo fission, obviously this would not happen in real life, but it is a fictional metal, so it is not logical.

Very interesting and funny video man had a few laughs. Thanks for leaving the credit! Got sent this in my Discord, keep up the good work!

The crashed bomb is not a normal nuke, it is a balefire bomb, it is basically a fictional bomb, the balefire in the game is green, and it is a magical fire, similar to the wildfire in Game Of Thrones, except that it is radioactive, and based in FallOut Equestria, and it is a type of spell.

Enriching water is a lot simpler than enriching uranium. You can do it in your kitchen if you want to. It's just going to take a while. First you fill a beaker with water, add some drain cleaner, then apply DC voltage across the water and electrolyse it away. Make sure the gas doesn't explode by ventilating the room properly. Do that until your water is almost gone. Put the water into a closed container and make sure it doesn't evaporate. Repeat and collect the 1 round electrolysis water in the same container. Then do the electrolysis step on this new batch of water. Do that a few dozen times and you should have enriched your water. Now you can do some fun experiments, like making ice cubes that sink.

And if you capture the gas you can even sell it off, or do other fun experiments. Like mixing it all together and putting a match to it.

If you want to enrich uranium on the other hand, you will need a chemical plant, several dozen gas centrifuges, a new power provider to power those centrifuges, hazardous and deadly chemicals like fluorine gas, which will eat you alive and a massive industrial site to put all that gear.

This mod is great, it inspired me to research industrial processes and all sorts of science. Very fun mod albeit with a few inaccuracies namely the RBMK having some very wacky fuel options. The oil system is kinda nice, but really simplified down to general names for things, like unsaturated hydrocarbons (which may refer to a number of different petrochemicals)

Overall its fun to play and that what matters

Oh man yeah, this mod is absolutely deranged
A lot of cool stuff through
Also despite what guy in the video says, that bomb with green markings is not really a nuclear bomb, it's a bomb with magical inextinguishable eternal flame thing

I know you are mainly a reaction channel, but I think if you start a server and a discord you’ll attract more people to this community. Personally I got interested in nuclear technology and science through this mod. Introducing this mod into your community might actually make an impact and interest people to advocate for and maybe even make a career in the nuclear industry.

Schist/radiation doesn't actually give you blindness, it's the Schrabidium (made-up radioactive material when uranium is exposed to a nuclear blast) that gives the player blindness.

1:12 there are so much references in this mod
15:51 in this mod heavy water tank is just infinite water supply level 2
You should play this mod or watch Savage Vegeta to see more of this mod

To be fair on the "radiation causing blindness" thing, too many people would complain if the mod actually gave Minecraft's nausea effect, and they had to do something, y'know. I don't get motion sickness like that but I've heard friends on Discord throw up from the effect, that's how disorienting it is. Also, he's not using heavy water, it's a heavy tank that can provide infinite water, thus a heavy infinite water tank.

15:57 There is an infinite water tank in this case; heavy just means it makes more water per second. Trust me, I make the same mistake thinking it is heavy water.
16:48 There is a large turbine, but 1. It is vary expensive. 2. The smaller industrial steam turbine has a 25% power boost. So most think it is better to use industrial steam turbines.

Whats interesting about this mod, it that it goes beyond nuclear fission, you also have nuclear fusion, antimatter, particle accelatores and made up stuff, like new fuels with fictional elements

4:25 In fact, it is not really radiation that causes blindness in Schrabidium, it is radiation, but not radiation such as alpha, beta or gamma or neutrons, in fact it is more like ultraviolet radiation, which makes it blind, because this metal emits a blue glow that It even resembles germicidal UV lamps, so it is a type of radiation that causes damage to the eyes like UV, and UV causes damage to the eyes, it is the type of radiation that is most harmful to the eyes.
There are only some materials that can do this, not all, like uranium, or even more radioactive materials like radium, cobalt-60, cesium-137 do not cause blindness, and only materials linked with schrabidium, schrabidium byproducts, and some other more peculiar ones.

The blindness is only with schrabidium containing items it blinds you because it kinda glows really bright

Yeah, HBM's Nuclear Tech mod is insane with content. Other nuclear mods are "put some blocks together, get generic reactor" HBM's is more indepth and I totally havent accidentally blown up an RBMK from improper structuring/cooling XD

I would recommend looking at Reika's Reactorcraft Mod. It has a High Temp Gas Reactor, regular Fission reactor, Breeder Reactor, Thorium Reactor, and a theoretical Fusion reactor (Tokamak)

Its sad that they barely showed the mod in this showcase, its so extremely complex and they just showed simple stuff
