How To Apply A Retinoid Skin Cream

Here's the BEST way to apply retinoids and to make sure they're evenly spread. It's called the 'microdot strategy'. Often when people use a 'pea size amount', they start with their forehead, and run out of the pea before they even reach their cheek! They then end up using too much. So what you want to do is take the pea sized amount and apply microdots to all the areas you want to treat BEFORE spreading!

I mix a pea amount of tret with a triple pea amount of a moisturizer so it's easier to spread and I do both things at once

The sandwich method really helped me with this. My clean, dry skin just seems to suck it up immediately so it was really hard to get it to spread, even with the microdot technique (I was doing it before I even knew there was a name for it lol). But if i put tret on after moisturizing, it slips around so much easier.

I didn’t know one could apply a moisturizer pre retinol application. I assumed the layer of moisturizer could interrupt or inhibit the retinoid development.

When i started using retinol, I always felt that this was the best way to do it. Of course, I still run out by the time I reach my chin but you can always spread some from your cheeks.

Oh goody I can sandwich 😊. I was wrong thinking I could just put it on before anything else. I would wake up looking 10 yrs older 😂 but now I know its because my skin is prone to sensitivity and dryness .

Could you please tell me, for man with beard (I don't have like a big thick beard), should we apply all skincare products over it or skip it? I always apply cleanser, moisturizer, retinol, everything over it but some people i see in videos skip it but what if I shave my beard? I want all my skin to look the same and healthy, I don't want to shave my beard and the skin underneath is different.
