Totally agree and it makes perfect sense! I've always found the (toxic) "positivity-no-matter-what" annoying and fake. It's about time it were no longer considered the "solution to the problem" but PROLONGING the problem, by hiding it under the carpet and refusing to confront it and deal with it.

Spot on!
This is Humanistic psychology approach and it works.
Accepting and self validation is anti-dote to trauma and toxic shame - the core open wound of any psychological disorder.

Carl Rogers put it “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.”

In real life - CBT is example of self pathologizing. CBT in social anxiety will explain social anxiety as dangerous condition, and that we must focus on panic symptoms and remove them. Jung said - What you resist, persist. CBT does not delve into trauma which is the cause of Social anxiety, instead it instructs people to go into Crusade wars and Civil war with oneself.

This in invalidation and invalidation is at the heart of any trauma.
Not accepting can be seen in most you tube videos for topics such as people pleasing, pushover, standing up for yourself, confidence, self esteem - there would be message to reject negative emotions which creates toxic shame and trauma, more anxiety and more problems and mental instability.

This is a great perspective and actually what I needed to hear today. I think the goal being pushed by many is being at peace but negative emotions do come up as triggers and need re examining, but not feeling you have failed when they do is so important . I found this video very helpful. Thanks 😊

I’ve listened to so many videos about negative emotions and how to deal with them, but yours was a lightbulb 💡 moment for me, these emotions are part of me, the tapestry of my life, so I need to work with them with compassion, love & understanding instead of pushing them away which only makes it worse…..and I love the expression “that we may always be dancing with these negative emotions” Thank you for your wisdom 🇳🇿

Not so long ago I realized that just feeling the negative emotion and letting it flow while not reacting to it and not trying to push it away is what I need to do in order to stop its effect on me.

Hell, whenever I start feeling anything negative, I just say, bring it on, let me feel it and it‘s at that moment where the negative feeling just disappears and loses its power.

Greetings. Somehow negative fellings are often indesciminatelly perceived as something strongly undesired. But as for all other intrapshykological emotions, even socalled "negative" feelings are deligated a pre-designated function. For in that moment of "negativity", the mind makes a shift in perspective, thus revealing to itself until then crypted sides of it self, hiddden in blind angels. Negative feelings are NOT something to be looked down upon, offcourse neither something to aspire for. A with all medicins it also has toxic effects when overdosed.. The golden middleway of optimal balanced ratio between the two poles of oppostie emotions, probably renders the ultimat favorable outcome, mentally and phycically. What should be remembered, is that all spectras of emotions contain to them an evolutionary function, namely survival. Thank you.
