I really appreciate the down to earth rth gen videos as a new owner its very confidence inspiring as opposed to the thousands of glamarous builds and videos on youtube this is awesome.

I do an oil change after the 1000km break in on all my new vehicles, super important imo. I also never go more than 5000kms on an oil change too.

Never heard anybody laugh while explaining how to change oil on any vehicle! Entertaining to say the least. 🤣

From what I was told the oil that comes in the vehicle from the factory has special additives in it that help break in the engine. I was advised to leave it in for the whole 5k miles.

Toyota recommends that I change the oil every 10K miles as well, but on my 23 TRD it’s changed every 5K miles.
Consumers need to remember that ALL automakers want you to replace your vehicle ASAP, so that’s why they recommend every 10K miles on the oil change.

The oil looks pretty brown after 1000 miles

Moved on to a Tundra but loved all your Tacoma videos as a Taco owner. I’ll keep watching, keep up the good work.

Use a sheet of aluminum foil instead of a shop towel. Much better results

They switched back to regular oil filters that’s awesome maybe this new rig wont be so bad too bad they aren’t made in Texas anymore maybe soon!

pre filling the oil filter isn't something we do at a Toyota dealership, you don't need to prefill the filter

I bought my 2024 Tacoma Limited in Nov. I do not drive a lot so I only have around 350 miles on it. (I live 5 minutes from work). Should I go by time instead of miles for break in period for the first oil change? If so, when should I get the oil change?

Great location for the oil filter at least they made it easy to get to you just saved at least a 100 or more changing your own oil now get that rest CK GBU And Family Always Stay Safe 🙏❤🌹

Just found your channel and ironically it was about you buying your 2nd set of KO2'S....MY dilemma was picking the size between 265 vs 285 like your situation...I too went with alittle more comfort on hwy. Vs off road and the 265...thanks

If you want your truck to last, don't follow those 10, 000 mile intervals for oil changes. 3, 000 to 5, 000 miles will serve you well. Changing your oil, especially with today's turbo charged engines, ever 3k to 5k miles is cheap insurance.

1k is reasonable, but better is 500mi. Any roller cam mfg which is what is in all modern engines recommend the first change at 500mi for the break in. Then normal 5k intervals after that, but being the 24 is a turbo engine it might be better to do 3k changes which might help extend the turbo life. From the flat tappet cam days oil change intervals were 20 to 30min (you pray before start the cam lived in that time), then 500mi, and then 1k and normal changes after that. I would also think or hope Toyota dumps the oil after 30min or so of running in the manufacturing process to spec the 1st oil change at 10k.

Awesome! How does the truck feel and ride, fuel mileage, and the overall power efficiency?
