GOODNESS ME! McDonald's McRib Review

I worked in McD's as a youngster about 30 years ago. The McRib pork patties back then came straight off the grill and were actually dipped entirely in a Bain-marie pan of warmed BBQ sauce, and the final sandwich was absolutely and amazingly dripping with sauce! Then they started just giving it a paltry wee squirt from a sauce gun or squeezy bottle. The early '90 McRib had more pickles and onions too. Good times.

I know this has nowt to do with your review but I thought you might find it amusing . Wimpy opened up a branch back in the mid seventies in the small Scottish town I lived in . As working class Scotts we couldn't afford many treats out but my parents decided to try this novel thing . We all dressed up for the occasion . My dad wore his only suit . We felt very fancy and a bit futuristic 😂 I still remember it as does my brother who is now in his seventies 😂

I get Rustler's BBQ Rib sandwiches for about £1.55 in Tesco, always add some onion and more BBQ sauce, to pimp it up. And I really like them, so no £4.50 McRib for me!!

Your face says everything, Gareth. You could have done a mute review, and it would have been obvious what you thought. When you first showed it, I thought that maybe you'd dropped it and someone had run over it. Apart from the pork connection, I can't see where the rib reference comes from. The toppings, too, were pretty poor. Even at half that price, I won't be tempted. Thanks again for a great review. 😄👍

I had one a few years ago here in Australia and it was actually not bad. Not brilliant but not bad. It did have about 3x the sauce, onion chopped finer and spread better and about 4-5 slices of pickle. I think they were a little stingy on the condiments with this one.
