I had the McRib for the first time last year when McDonald's brought it back, and it wasn't great, but a lot of people told me that I must have gotten a bad one. So I decided to give it another chance. So is it good?

The reason it's not permanent is due to cost of making it. I think the prices fluctuate a lot to make this peoduct.

THIS will be the death of the McRib, because as much as I have always loved it, it is not a $6 sandwich. I remember back in the day they’d have a 2 for $6 special, and that was pretty special. Every time it comes back, though, they never fail to make it more expensive. In a cash strapped economy, they’re gonna be hard pressed slinging them McRibs for $6 a piece because even diehards like myself know that’s not more than a $4 sandwich, and I can and will resist the urge to give them my money.

I had the McRib once, after my worst shift at work. Sufficed to say, it did not make it better.

Honestly though, McDonald’s is crap now. I don’t eat meat anymore, and their fries contain beef, yet people complain about the flavor.

That aside, nothing there has any value and it’s sure as hell not quality either. It’s like they know they’re big enough that they can do anything, make their food as bad and rancid as possible for as much as possible, and they’d still have a large enough group that still would eat it.

There’s better options for value, better options for burgers, better options for people who can’t eat meat, better options for accuracy and better options for work. It’s just not a good choice for fast food anymore.

Being the curious sort I did some research. And, by research I mean I referenced Wikipedia. According to the book of knowledge, the McRib was first introduced in 1981. I have been aware for years now that there is something of a cult following for this sandwich. And though I’ve enjoyed McDonald’s for decades I hadn’t tried the McRib until 2022. And, to my surprise, it didn’t suck. I actually enjoyed it.
