If I’m not mistaken the McRib originally debuted as a full menu item but didn’t do well thus it was removed from the menu. Then they brought it back as a limited time item, it was ludicrously profitable, and now it’s a seasonal item.

My favorite McDonald's seasonal thing is the Shamrock shake. I forgot to get one this year cause i dont eat fast food anymore and it made me sad. Mint chocolate chip milkshake is just as good

The funny part is that mcdonalds doesn't actually make that much money on the food. They're basically an estate agent for people who want to open a fast food restaurant

The ACTUAL reason it's around for only a small amount of time, that being the weird and inconsistent pork prices, so when they predict that the pork prices will go down, they'll start putting it in production, and start advertising it

I never really cared for the McRib. My elementary school cafeteria had them. When i got my first job at McDonald's, i learned to dislike the sandwich. The meat is stored in plastic trays in a heated cabinet that holds other meat. When you slide out the tray to retrieve the patties, the fumes from the bbq sauce hit you like tear gas.

In poland there is a limited drwal (logger in english) and there is a reason it has tons of people waiting in line to try it, it is a fried cheese patty along with cranberry jam (cranberry jam and cheese is a very popular and legendary combo in poland) some shredder lettuce and fried onions
For some reason in contrary to most mc burgers, it tastes like it made with love and is really comforting in winter (which by the way is the only season they sell it in) generally a burger loved by the public

people in europe with the mc rib being around all year, but having way better seasonal items (in terms of localisation, theres a few burgers in my area/country, as well as neighbouring countries, that is really just a thing of the area. Aka it would simply not make sense to people in other nations, due to the background 🗿
