I think this is the most calm I’ve ever heard Scotty.

I'll take either one. I have been a loyal Honda customer for 10 plus years, and I'll have no issues owning a Toyota. I still want Honda and Toyota to make one model car together. Honda can do the engine, Toyota can do the transmission, and they both can do the body style and accessories etc...

I bought a 2009 Corolla brand new, a model that Scotty reports being one of the worst models. To tell you the truth, I have now over 450k miles on it. I change the oil myself, and take good care of it. Now imagine if I had bought a good model LOL 😂

I had a 2003 Corolla S and the battery blew up. The car still ran even with a blown battery. One of the most bullet proof cars out there in my opinion.

When it comes to reliability then only 1 name is in mind that is Corolla

I’m a loyal Toyota lady, having owned many. I currently have a Corolla and I love it. Both my sons also drive Toyotas. If I didn’t have a thing for Toyotas, Honda would be my next choice. They are both good reliable vehicles.

I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get yelled at by Scotty this entire video

I bought my 2004 Corolla at 160k miles, and I'll admit, I've abused the hell out of that car. I've not always had the money needed to keep up with the repairs, and I finally start earning some decent money and it gave out on me. It just passed 250k miles and I'm needing to replace the engine due to rod knock. And the funny thing is that it's been so reliable the past five years I've owned it, even when I've not put in the time and effort into maintaining it, that I'm probably going to end up putting another engine in it. It's gotten me through several road trips and is surprisingly fun to drive. If I do end up doing the engine swap, I'm going to maintain it to see just how long I can keep it going, even if it means spending another 5+ years with this car!

The first car I bought was a 2005 Honda Civic LX, which I bought new. Lasted me for over 16 years and put almost 207, 000 miles on it. Issues I had was a bad alternator and starter. Replaced my brakes twice. No problem with the AC. I probably could’ve driven it for another year or so but the head gasket went bad and the cost to fix it wasn’t with it. Before I got my Honda I was planning on getting a Toyota Corolla. In January 2021, I ended up buying a 2021 Toyota C-HR as I got a better deal than 2021 Honda C-RV. I will always have a soft spot for my Honda Civic. Both great car companies!

For some reason I see more new new gen Civics than Corollas.

I’ve had about 5 corollas in my life and just bought my 6th one used it’s a 2007 at 160k miles. The fan is louder than other models I’ve owned but runs like a dream. Gotta love cars owned by seniors who just don’t drive anymore yet still changed their oil every 6 months lol

Currently well pleased with the used 2018 Corolla XSE I purchase a year ago. 26K miles when I bought it. Now at 48K and going strong. Just a great car! Appreciate all your info and hard work Scotty!

I’ve owned several civics dating back to 1981. They have all performed well and I put over 100, 000 miles on each one.

I owned a 2005 Corolla Sport Manual. It was insane how reliable it was, especially compared to the American cars I grew up with. The Takata airbag recall was a major pain though. They notified me that because of the danger, no one should ride in the passenger seat until the replacement became available (15 Months later). In the meantime, I had to drive three kids to school and stuff them all in the back seat. At 6 am 🤨

Good overview of the history of Civics and Corollas. Surprised you didn't mention the infamous peeling clearcoat issue that the 8th gen Civics had. It got so bad Honda got hit with a class-action lawsuit.

I've only owned Toyotas and they have been great. I have friends who own both and their advice on which to buy is, "flip a coin."
