What about the translation of foreign language? I can see Google Glass being the perfect device for the overseas traveller, translating signage and other texts and possibly speech, it could convert local prices into other denominations, and helping you navigate

The computer part actually clips on to the frame, so you can just take it off the stock lensless frame and clip it onto the glasses you're already wearing.

If they don't show ads, then the product is either A) a portal into google services (Android) or B) collect data about you (G+)

So if Google glass doesn't show you ads, then expect it to collect data (maybe by what you look at).

Ever heard of "7 units"? It's the maximum number of things the average person can keep track of at any time. Trying to walk, keeping track of your direction, obstacles as well as what's on your field of view on your glasses, trying to control them... it's going to lead to a lot of broken noses. The only way this'll work is if you use them sitting down, when you're doing nothing else

That was my question too. Seems like there are only two options; they make a clip on version to fit on our regular glasses, or make versions with prescription lenses in them.

do you mean like taking in height, assumed weight, what physical build they fill best, etc and simmering it all into a power level?

While driving, you can send a message or call someone without the need of using and paying full attention to your phone, you shouldn't do it, but it will be better this way I guess... You can take pics you would not be able to take if you were using a normal camera, you can do google translate for when you go on trip or something for basic stuff, and much more. Yes I will def. get them.

Three technologies that are about to emerge- driverless cars (GOOGLE), virtual (and augmented) reality (SONY, GOOGLE) and computers that understand human language and can filter data and come up with solutions for problems from that (IMB Watson). These three will change the world as we know it. Exciting times to live in indeed, though also freightening. I'm 24 and I still remember the world without widespread mobile phones and now we're getting this.
