You forgot Expedition Everest. Before the backwards drop is where it gets you the most. I'm not afraid of heights, but it's still worth mentioning because it got me the first time.

Dude - Everest isn't on this list? That climb on a skinny track, straight up in the air, on the way to that main peak? I literally swooned when I looked over the side.

Two things got me when I was there two weeks ago.
1. The climb up and over the Eiffel tower on Soarin'
2. Sitting stranded for 10 min on the skyliner.. moving was fine.. stopped, not so much

Great topic! My "fear of heights" is in fact a fear of falling -- I'm usually OK when falling is not possible. I enjoy Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest, and California Grill. Flight of Passage and Soarin' are great because I can feel the thrill and still feel secure! But no way I'm going up in that hot air balloon! And uncertain if I will do the gondolas or not.

I really appreciate a video like this. Most of the things I already knew would potentially trigger my fear of heights, but actually I like TOT. I think being enclosed in the car makes me feel safer than rides at other theme parks like Six flags that have similar drops but they’re completely outside. For that reason I can ride TOT and enjoy it, and Soarin/FOP are thrilling but I just try to hold onto the handles tightly, focus on the film on the screen, and try not get too caught up in the feeling of being up high. I usually only do those rides once or twice a trip though because it does get exhausting with all that tension and adrenaline.
The best tip may be the Cali Grille observation deck! We weren’t able to get a time closer to the fireworks like we usually do, so I’m sure we’ll have to go and come back to watch fireworks later, but the thought of standing outside 15 stories up is a lot different than our usual seated viewing indoors. I think I will tell them that I’m afraid of heights and is there any place I can stand or sit with my family that’s indoors. The skyline freaked me out before, but after the crash I’m not planning on riding it. I would not want to get stuck for hours above a highway or a big body of water. I would lose it. They built gondolas instead of updating/expanding the monorail in order to save money. I hope they at least improve their evacuations and hire enough firefighters to handle all of these incidents more efficiently. I wish they had gone with the monorail, because that does have issues sometimes, but it seems lower to the ground, it’s on a track, and they’ve had a lot more practice dealing with monorail issues.

Because i was on the top "swings" of soarin, I was struggling!! but I do not actually have fears of heights, it was the combination of being actually high and feeling high from the screens, I think if I ride again I may request a lower swing!

I’m super afraid of heights/flying, but I went on Soarin’ back in 2006 and thought it was great. It felt like hang gliding at low-ish altitudes and was really pleasant, plus you smelled orange groves and whatnot. We went on it in 2018, and it was awful. I felt like the whole thing was more like trick flying, like up and over the Eiffel Tower and then up and over Spaceship Earth. I was having major anxiety, and my child sitting next to me, whom I’d assured the ride was enjoyable, was equally freaked out. We were in the front row, too, which didn’t help. It might’ve been better if we’d been lower.

I was nervous for Flight of Passage, but I honestly thought it was pretty cool. I didn’t have any issues with it at all. I think it’s the difference between feeling like you’re hanging vs being supported from underneath.

The top floor restaurant at the Four Seasons on WDW has a balcony that one can look straight down all the past all the floors. It was a bit breathtaking and the railing was not too high, just high enough.

Tower of Terror is the only Disney ride I'm actually afraid to get on.

I am one of those that is scared of heights (actually just more scared of FALLING TO MY DEATH) but enjoy coasters & drop towers. The spoke rides (dumbo, astro orbiter, etc.) scare me more because they give me far more time to think about those heights🤣

When I went to Disney World in 2001 I got on the Tower of Terror I was crying like a baby, but I'm going back next month and I can't wait to get on this

I'm not afraid of heights, just the feeling of falling. So I can't bring myself to go on Summit Plummit.

Don't know why Tower of Terror is fine, I guess I feel better strapped in.

I was on the Skyliner about an hour before the incident. One teenage girl on our gondola was scared so her parents asked if it was about the height. She said she's normally scared of heights but right now the claustrophobia concerned her a lot more. My takeaway was that the height isn't really that big of an issue, not just because ( in her case ) it was overcome by a greater fear but because it just wasn't that high and you're in a secure room.

I have a slight fear of heights but soaring and flight of passage was AMAZING, space mountain is still my favourite ride tho!

Most of this stuff I'm okay with, except for the free fall at Blizzard Beach and the hot air balloon. I would need to change into another pair of pants (or swim trunks) after those.

The 1st time I got on Soarin over California I had a full blown panic attack. It was terrible. We were also on the top level so I made myself do it again next time we were at Epcot and requested the lowest level. It was much better because I knew how close to the ground we were. I want to experience flight of passage so badly. How high off the ground does the ride vehicle go? Thanks for this video.
