Wondering how to practice self love? Self love is more than just changing your hair, getting a new wardrobe, or attempting to redefine yourself. Self love is obtaining an appreciation for yourself that stems from the physical, emotional, and spiritual support you provide yourself. It's not a fixed state, but it grows through actions that lead to maturity over time. Self care encompasses four different parts– self awareness, self worth, self esteem, and self care. Establishing self love can be a long journey, so here are a few tips on how to love yourself and practice self love.

Hey, you, yes, I'm talking right to you. I hope you will see yourself with the eyes I see you one day. Because I can tell you have some awesome music taste :) you're such a beautiful human being and worth and enough! I hope you know that you do only need yourself to be happy!! I know society build up the standard that whenever you're alone, you're not living a happy life. If it's night for you..go to sleep. I know it's hard to fall asleep right now but you deserve a good sleep. If you have nightmares, please don't let them fight you.

If it's day for you, don't start it by such sad music. I know it's impossible to have a good day with such mindset but take baby steps..start by drinking two cups of water in the morning and so on... You will start building little healthy habits.

If it's evening for you, you're probably overwhelmed and stressed. I want you to know it's okay to feel the way you feel. You don't need to be scared. Of course you're overwhelmed or stressed, I mean who wouldn't!? But it's impossible to know that when you feel that way, you should do a little self care..such as taking a bath for example? You deserve to feel at aese and relaxed. And if you're somewhere in between, I hope you know that you're stronger than you think...

I know that you will make it :)

Now, wipe those tears away and smile for me. you really don't know how much a smile can brighten someone's day, do you? I hope one day yours will become a genuine one where you don't need to fake it anymore. Because I can't say this enough. You deserve a good smile and to feel alive. You're worth more than every fooking cent in this world.

Remember, crying is not weakness. Let it out as much as you can but don't let the emotion control you by giving up. It's okay, you're here, you're safe, you can let it out.

Did anyone asked you how are you feeling today? If not, how are you really?? I don't think you're doing good, but you will feel good at one point. Don't give yourself up.

I'm sorry you feel misunderstood.

But anyone who gets to be with you, doesn't know how fooking lucky he/she/they is :)Enough with beating up yourself for today, okayy?

One thing that always makes me doubt myself is when i dont get results as high as i expected, self expectations are another cause why my self confidence keeps getting lower. I want to just appreciate myself for the efforts i put in even though the result isnt that satisfying:(

I've been depressed and feeling low since last 5 months. My boyfriend who proposed me marriage cheated on me and I also lost my job. I'm surviving each day with a little bit of hope. Thanks for this video and the comments, they really helped me feel hopeful :)

Just wanted to add something for those who struggle with self-deprecation:
- Before you judge and condemn yourself for whatever reason you have, examine if the negative thoughts and beliefs you hold about yourself are really your own or are imposed on you by others (family, societal expactations, etc..) That is what helped me come out of self-loathing and like I don’t deserve happines. That’s what really shifted it for me. I know I deserve to be happy now, and know I am allowed to put myself (self-care) first. I’m worth my own love. ❤️

This is so important for a trauma survivor like me.... I have forgotten to live and love myself. I wish I could come out of this situation and emerge as a strong and healthy person like I was before.

I want to add that under #4: "Set Boundaries", there can be a difference between getting out of your comfort zone and listening to your inner self (emotional, Spiritual, or mental) or even physical body.

For instance, sometimes when I wake up either from a nap or for the day, I might not feel like doing anything or going anywhere. However, once I attend an activity, go to Church, visit with Family, or whatever, I often feel better for going rather than staying surrounded by my four walls at home. I wasn't always like this, but I recently I've noticed this about myself.
I don't know if its related to a possible addition towards electronics or if it's in relation to something emotional and psychological that I haven't yet discovered.
In either case, I am glad for the small victories of getting over my insecurities and selfish desires and allowing myself to get lost in the moment. And yes, sometimes I Have turned down activities whenever I felt Super Tired or when I really just didn't want to go.
But when I have felt like I can, and I make the efforts to do so, I feel so much better connecting with others. 😊
