In this lesson, we will explain how to factor the greatest common factor out. This means we will find the GCF or greatest common factor which is the largest common factor for a group of monomials. Then we will place the GCF outside of a set of parentheses. We will then divide each term of the original polynomial by the GCF and place the result inside of the parentheses.
