Solving an equation for y and x

could you explain how to get x or y by itself in x+y=xy? What i did first was turn it into x+y -xy=0 now it’s a quadratic so i completed the square (x+y/2)^2 +3y/4 = 0 where do i go from here?

My teacher takes up to 40 minutes explaining how to do this, but no one understands. Brian McLogan explains this in less than 5 minutes and probably everyone feels more comfortable with it now. (including myself)
