Everyone fails at YouTube, but not everyone quits. @humphrey failed at YouTube, but succeeded on Tiktok and brought all that knowledge back to YouTube Shortsand, most impressively, long-form content. This is how he did it.

Each time you or a guest talk about your first videos being bad it genuinely gives me more motivation to keep making them! It’s like okay maybe I’m where I should be right now

Every huge channel started with the first view, the first subscriber

I grew from 1000 subs to now nearly 200, 000 subs in less than a year thanks to many of your videos and tips! I’d love to elaborate on what exactly tips proved to be responsible for my growth.

Great video for small content creators and I wish I had this back when I was starting. I was so mad because I had great content but wasn't getting any attention. 1000 subscribers was mission impossible. I was lucky when I found out I can boost my channel with initial subs just enough to start getting noticed. I got myself first couple of hundred subs for very low price (I have personally used a bit of Famester). After that my main channel gained a ton of organic traffic.

Honestly, my biggest problem with growing is keeping a consistent upload schedule. I was getting exponential views and subs until I stopped posting consistently. It's still nice to find new advice tho. Maybe I'll find more time to build my channels. Youtube is such a fun pastime!

I myself started this channel a few months ago, followed a lot of your tips, posting every day (it's a Shorts channel) and I now in the latest month see my channel slowly growing in the right direction with new subscribers almost every day 😀

The best tips from you that I have used is, Stay Consistent and Don't Give Up! It's a marathon and not a sprint.

Thanks for all the tips you give us, have a great day 😊♥️

Do you folks, do you. Not every channel is a talking head channel. If you’re having fun, don’t sweat the madness. Keep a full time gig and enjoy the process. It’s fun and a great learning experience, if you allow for it.

I started posting videos about 4 months and I'm slowly seeing growth now. The problem i had was consistency and trying to reach an audience outside of Japan(still struggling a bit) but im doing much better 😊

Been loving seeing that more creators are balancing short and long form to see growth. Great interview with Humphrey, Rob!

As a budding finance creator, I really appreciate the insights Humphrey has to share! Very helpful, thank you for the video.

fyi at 7:57 the educational vs. storytelling graphic got mixed up as Humphrey was talking about it, kinda threw me off.

One thing i've personally noticed from all this info, is that these strategies do work, but only if you have a channel that is about something. Like this channel--it's about YouTube growth. The other guy's channel is about personal finance. It's about something that already exists and people are already interested in. That seems to be the only way to grow on YouTube. If you're doing something completely original like uploading your own music, there doesn't seem to be any way to grow except for luck, even if you implement different things like music theory videos, vlogs, or how to videos. It just doesn't work, or maybe it takes twice as long. All i know is that with consistent uploading, and trying out different kinds of videos on top of my music, i have experienced no growth at all. So much so i'm convinced my channel may be dead. So it seems to me that you have to make your content about something that already exists and talk about that, which makes sense obviously, but it's still info that doesn't doesn't really apply to that small group of people making original content. For example, if i were to make my channel about playthroughs or covering popular songs, that would get me exposure. But trying to grow your own music on this site is damn near impossible, at least for me. And that's always been a strange notion to me because they say YouTube is the second biggest music discovery platform. Apparently. I'd love to see more videos about how people making completely original content can grow. Regardless, still grinding and working at it!
