Dr ken berry, you have revealed the veils of medical understandment. Ive lost 30 lbs in 2 months, I've talk to doctor's about my change in diet, and all keep saying the way im eating is ludicrous. But all my numbers have dropped, and now scratching there heads. I pray this knowledge continues to be presented like it should.

I have stage 3 kidney disease and i have lupus. Carnivore has allowed me to reverse my insulin resistance and my symptoms are all but gone. Thank you Dr. Berry!

I’m so mad that my doctor never talked to me about my kidney disease. I read about it in my online account because I asked for it! Stage 3 and had no clue! Not ok!

You are so down to earth and people can tell that you truly are caring. Thank you so much Dr. Barry for all you do. I am a fellow carnivore for over 20 years as well as a retired holistic doctor. I love listening to your videos I have never been disappointed😊

Kidney stone means pain in your kidney! But that’s a special case.

I was sure I had a gut problem, my doctor agreed, and I had a barium meal and then a CT scan… and the report said “1mm stone in right kidney” and everything else negative.

That did pass. Painfully. Retrieved a near-spherical oxalate stone from the toilet bowl by sheer luck.

Gotta say, have noticed how much younger you look these days, you are doing something right, is working for ya.

Yes me too I have stopped needing to urinate so often. It used to feel like I was going to pee myself all the time. Then when I would go, little to nothing would come out. Since going carnivore in 2020, this has entirely stopped

I'm surprised he didn't mention getting a Cystatin C test. Dr. Sean Baker has said his eGFR using the creatinine testing comes out to a 54! But, with the Cystatin C test his eGFR is over 100. So, if you are carnivore, & work out, you may need Cystatin C test to get an accurate eGFR number.

Omg Dr. Berry, thank you for doing a video on this. I’m freshly 39 and my GFR is at 52! I went back and looked at my lab work over the years and it has tanked from 84 to 52 in the span of ~8 years. Not a big drinker. Never smoked. Always exercised/lifted weights/long distance running. And yet I had bladder cancer at 36 and now my kidneys are showing signs of CKD. I started the Carnivore Diet in October, but then started eating carbs again. I’m now getting serious about it and hoping maybe I might see my GFR go up. Oh and to top it all off I have Premature Menopause 🤦‍♀️ grateful for all of your knowledge sharing.

I was in Stage 4 CKD, 5 years ago. PHD has taken it to stage 2.

I finally got well enough to start asking for copies of my labs. I saw my eGFR showed mild decrease and it was getting worse, close to 60. I asked my doctor why she hadn't discussed this with me, she just shrugged and said it's nothing serious, you're getting older, like it was expected, well, I had energy again, so I researched what I could do and now instead of my kidneys getting worse they are getting better and will hopefully keep improving. It's best to fix things before they are totally broken.
Lesson learned, never trust my doctor, who is a wonderful person and mostly a great doctor, but I have to take responsibility for my own health.

I feel my urine stream has improved since carnivore.

Dr. Berry, you should recommend a Cystatin C blood test if the normal Quest lab work looks scary! My eGFR was completely normal in this more comprehensive test. Also, since I did have a scare and my Dr sent to me to a Nephrologist immediately, he said they never rely on the Quest/Labcorp labs equations for eGFR-they use the MAYO QUADTRATIC eGFR calculations to properly access your eGFR.I was freaked out for 3 months, waiting to see the Nephrologist, bc of a Quest lab BUN?CREATININE level & its eGFR. The Nephrologist did an Ultrasound and protein urine and Cystatin C blood work. ALL came out Negative! He told me to leave his office and eat a huge I swear!!!! P.S.- the Nephrologist was Keto and xo

Thanks, Dr. Berry! This doesn't seem to be a problem for me. None of these symptoms. I do have less appetite than I used to have, but im 75 and i eat good, whole foods (not Carnivore, eat Veggies and Fruits as well as Meat and Eggs). Good nutrients and i don't feel hungry or have cravings ... no snack foods.
Good to know the symptoms though!

Helped me to worry a lot.
Cramps in the night. Check
Foamy urine, Check
17mm cyst on my right kidney, Check.
Urine frequency. Check.
I often get woken up in the night with pain in my right kidney, if I sleep on that side I wake up feeling strange, as if my blood has hot sauce in it.
Guess I'll be getting my blood tested this week.

My nephrologist would disagree with you on one issue. After an exam two weeks ago, I told him I had protein in my urine and blood. He waved me off before I could finish. His statement was that new medicine and a new controlled study showed that it meant nothing and not to worry about it.
By the way, I have gone from early stage 3 back to lower stage 2 after doing a carnivore and now ketovore diet

I've had small blood in urine for years. The urologist concluded women who wear pads all the time for incontinence. I believe rhat may have to do with glyphosate I the cotton - possibly.

Thank you so much for sharing the vast amount of knowledge with us. Kudos

Thank you for this video. Istarted carnivore in early July. A year ago my GFR was in the 80s. This year's labs is in the low 40s. My doctor is on the ball. She ordered ultrasound and CT which both showed normal. Labs have been run 3 times in the last week and numbers stay the same. Waiting to see specialist. While I'm getting mixed messages about amount of protein for those with existing kidney disease, I know I need to up my fat. More videos on carnivore for those with CKD would be greatly associated.
