They droppt the MLA just because it is still brighter then the G4 without, so they can add it back to the G6 to make it another time a little bit brighter..

I expected this - MLA production is expensive and LG announced price drop for complete OLED line few days ago - 65 inch C series for 1200 euros, G series for 200 euros more and B series for about 1000 euros or even less... There is no place for MLA panel with prices like this. And another point worth mentioning - they have huge amount of sales during this Black Friday and New year, if you order tv now it will not be delivered before March 2025... Looks like pressure from TCL and Hisense in price drop finally gives results - we should have C series during next BF for less then 1000 euros in size 65... And that is huge price drop!

I think this is a big spot for LG and they can’t afford to miss here. QD-OLED is taking rapid strides forward… I’m very curious to see if without MLA LG is confident enough to offer the five-year complete warranty that they did on the G4. That’s what swayed me from an S90D to the G4.

“LG says the increased brightness of its G5 and M5 OLED TVs stems from a new “Brightness Booster Ultimate” technology that combines an update panel architecture with light and colour boosting algorithms powered by the Alpha 11 AI processor. The panel is believed to be based on a new 4-layer stack comprising one red, one green and two blue pixel layers that enhances both colour and white luminance while expanding its coverage of the Rec. 20 colour gamut, hopefully delivering more accurate images than ever before.” Vincent

The G5 might not have MLA technology, but it has something because it looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for this excellent video! Very exciting!

No table stand is a mistake here in the UK that sold better with the stand than non stand sizes

That's pretty lame it doesn't come with a stand. Not everyone wants to mount their TV on a wall.

Love my G4. I’ll upgrade when G15 arrives.

I have a LG A1 OLED, it's pretty fantastic and impresses anyone that comes over, crazy how many improvements they've still made

After owning the LG C2 and now the LG G4, I can tell you that MLA raises blacks in a room with any light. QD OLED has this problem at an even higher degree. If LG doesnt need MLA then it will have perfect blacks. Perfect contrast is the key to image quality…. Not antiglare matte coating that destroys contrast.

Man I still have a CX OLED from LG. I'm so glad I've been more than satisfied with the CX, and have the will power to hold out on getting a new TV. No longer I tell you, because the G5 is my next TV. I'm still in love with my CX, it has and still is serving me well.

I hope that by removing the MLA panel means that greyish look is gone, and we are back to pure black glossy panels.

48” G5 may finally inspire me to replace my 48” CX that I have been using as a PC monitor for 4+ years.

I think the real question is going to be what is the price vs quality and size. The biggest problem with TVs these days is the lack of real image quality improvement vs what they are being priced at. How much better will this TV be vs getting a cheaper larger TV with close to the same performance from 2024?

4-layer stack maybe? Exciting to see the return of perfect blacks along with the increased brightness.

I was just about to buy the G4 but said to myself the only thing that would stop me is a panel change to improve color in the G5. Now I wonder if the new panel will have the 5yr warranty?

Disappointing that they are going to not include the stand mounts in the lower sized tvs! Once again! Come on LG! Not everyone wants a wall mount!
