G5 has the same ambient light properties as the C series. Incredible black levels in a bright room.

I've seen the 55" S95D in a TV store in a very bright environment, it does not look like that! It just blocks the reflections and it looks amazing with great color depth, brightness, and gorgeous picture quality!

My beloved C9 seems on its way out. After almost 6 years there is a cm thick border around the picture that is brighter than the rest. Super weird, but once you notice it gets annoying. Maybe a coincidence, but I noticed it first after the last proper pixel refresh.

So I really hope I can get a deal on the G5 65inch in Oct./Nov. and upgrade from my 55inch C9.

I feel like TVs have plateau. Every year, a little brighter and a litte more colorful. The gains are so minimal that it's not worth the upgrade if you bought a 2024 competitor. Bigger sizes are more important IMO.

3:00 mark, the G5 looses the most color but gets the brightest... Even the G4 with same panel has more color. So, is the color still there in person and is a camera effect?

The g5 as I understand it is the closest TV out there to a Sony reference monitor used for movie making. So the colors the brightness ECT are just about as accurate as you can get in a tv (even if some have darker colors or "richer' colors) the G5 is film accurate. It's the best tv on the market to date
