Vincent, please make a video going through all the default FILMMAKER MODE settings on the LG G5 in SDR, HDR, and Dolby Vision. As you mentioned, I like seeing some of the minor changes. It'll also be good for you to have a new video educating people on what their TV should actually look like.

Wow this is looking to be a great year for LG OLEDs given the significant 700 nits jump in brightness over last year's G4!

Wow, that;s truly substantial jump. For now I am happy with my 2023 C3, let's see what tech will be in 2-3 years, once I am ready to upgrade again.

Loving the little changes LG’s made this year in the UI. Literally it’s like they’ve been spying on me and listening to my gripes. Just wish they’d stop messing up my C2 lol.

This is close to being perfect, no WOLED or QD OLED draw backs, high peak brightness, higher full screen brightness, great color coverage.

Have had my LG 65" G4 for 1 month and 2 days now (got it on February 6th, it's now March 8th, 2025), and at the $1899 price that I paid I'm very happy! No tax and shipping was included btw, so $1899 total.

So with that being my case, I don't care if they did 175hz, maybe even 240hz on the G5, cause for the same 65", it will be significantly more expensive at the "it just came out" price of £3299 ($4, 259) and won't drop anything significant for atleast 6-8 months after release. Then you factor in the 40% extra brightness and the G4 is already PLENTY bright in my well lit room, but let's just say 20% of that extra brightness are actual noticeable differences in HDR "POP" in certain games/content and realisticly it's gonna be more like 10-15% probably. Then top it all off with a new and "unproven" method of display tech as compared to the 2nd generation MLA tech in the G4's that are rock solid proven and loved.

So with that said... I'm more than cool with the heavily discounted G4, and unless you just have unlimited money to not care, I think the choice is simple. Even the 5090 vs 4090 graphics cards aren't this little of a difference between them and even being scalped atm for way over their MSRPs, are still less of a price gap between them as compared to the G4 price now and G5 price anywhere near release. For less of an upgrade...

But anyways... To anyone on the fence about whether to wait or go for the now 1 gen old models, I hope this has helped put some stuff into perspective! 👍🏼

Nice ! Finally a WOLED with +80% (edit : in xy term, it would be haigher in u'v' terms) rec2020 coverage and very high luminance ! Knowing that the tech might appear on a 4k 27 inch 240 Hz monitor form. I'm eager to know what Samsung has prepared for there QD-OLED panels.

G4 here bought last year in October. G5 is cool being even brighter, but doesn’t make me want to run out getting one. G4 is bright enough for me and usage case.
