My first exposure to him was "Forks Over Knives" 2016. He wasn't the main character. It was Dr. Caldwell Esselysten and Dr. T Colin Campbell. But. When they did show him he was absolutely certain it was the food. And then he talked about his time as plantation doctor. Here really resonated with me because my parents only farmed in Laos. All their old photos they were trim. But since they came here they've gotten fat and very sick. Both passed away from severe stroke living their last moments in the icu. But having learned from Dr. Mcdougall I will not make that mistake and hopefully save the lives of those living. Long Live Dr. John Mcdougall! 💯🔥✊️✊️

Dr John McDougall has now finished his job of equipping us with what we need for perfect health. And it’s now up to all of us to carry his torch. He will always be the best health teacher to me. Always. 🙏🏽

Dr. McDougall was so brave to go up against medical heresy. He took his Hippocratic oath seriously. I will be forever indebted to him

Thank you Dr. Lim for the remembering of Dr. John McDougall. I wish every doctor in the world could watch his videos and this tribute to learn what a great and truthful doctor, the world has lost. I will continue to follow his starch based diet and to know he has saved my life, my thinking and all of his truths about food being the medicine. All the best to the McDougall family and to Heather for continuing her dad’s program and to Mary, what a wonderful soulmate, partner and recipe writer sharing your life with this great doctor.

I read The Starch Solution back in 2013 and it has opened my life to a whole dimension of compassion towards animals and the notion that our body is a temple for the soul, not a temporary storage place for tortured murdered animals 😂 Rest in peace doctor, salute from Holland ❤😊

For 15 years I've been amazed that he was still alive no matter how pristine his diet, precisely because of that stroke he had in '65. The fact that he made it this far is shocking and should be an example for anyone who is recovering from a stroke or any other diet-related issue.

Dr. Lim, thank you! I loved Dr. McDougall and this was such a beautiful tribute and memorial. And, wow, I'm glad Heather said you'll be speaking more. I loved your talk, and I loved your ability to show emotion and ability to talk about spirituality. Our world needs those qualities.

This man was on a beautiful mission his whole life. Imagine if every human was like him, in what kind of world we would live in.

Sad that Wikipedia will not acknowledge his stroke at age 18 because they told me they needed “proof” and that the link to the McDougall website wasn’t good enough. I hope the McDougall family will be able to provide this to Wikipedia so that what is written about him is more accurate and does him justice.

My heart goes out to you Heather and all your family, your Dad saved my life. I smoked for 44 years and ate animal foods until 7 years ago too. I was dx with MS 23 years ago and was going downhill fast until I came across your Dad. I then became a starchivore eating mainly potatoes and managed to stop the 10 meds I was on which were actually making me worse. Dr Peter Rogers was 100% right when he said John McDougall was the best doctor in the world. I thank your Father from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

I am so happy Dr Lim presented what I believed almost no one saw
How Dr McDougall always made sure no one would forget, about the giants that came before him, and I have no doubt most of us here also stand upon the shoulders of Dr McDougall's life work and we need to build on it further and be inspired by it to leave our own contribution to the world
