*"Rule 12 - Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street"*
This one really hit me in the strangest way. I recently lost my best friend, my dog, and I was absolutely heartbroken because of it. One day I was walking aimlessly in the streets, like I many times did with my dog, when a random cat caught my gaze and came towards me. The only thing that I could do was the most obvious one: I petted it. After a few minutes, we both went our way. I don't know how or why that happened, but it truly was like a ray of light piercing through the dark clouds of my mind. It made me realize that, despite death and sadness, life can still go on and offer moments of shining beauty.

*Rule 08 - Tell The Truth* -- I've been doing that for so many years. Not a single lie. I don't go out telling other people what I think of them, that is being rude. I answer SPECIFICALLY what they asked for, not more, not less. If for some reason I don't want to answer the question, instead of lying I have a trick that is super complex to normal people, I say "I really don't wanna answer that, if that's ok for you." and ta-da, we change topics. I'm not saying it's easy not to lie in a world where people expect you to lie, but with therapy and courage, you can. I learned that every time I lie, I'm being ashamed of who I am.

Rule number one is one I've often told my daughter and her friends when they where younger. Learned it from my grandfather, always stand and walk like you like yourself. It will attract good people and make bad people think twice about messing with you. Teaching the same to my grandkids.

For all the kindness, passion and sincerity you’ve been giving out for many years, and especially to young men who feel alienated or confused, I hope you are also reaping a harvest of goodwill, love and appreciation Dr. Peterson.

“As difficult as things are, you’re up to the challenge.”

This really resonated and motivated me so much when I heard it.

Thank you, JP.

I used to come here and listen to these videos at nights whenever I felt alone or perhaps lonely. It was a relief from time to time but I've come to a conclusion by the time. "Life is as meaningful as you fulfil yourself"
That is why you get sad or mad and literary seeking for peace, putting your concern at ease and you trying trying and trying but you often break down and crawl toward distractions like p*rn, s*x, or cigar and any other sorts of addiction which it could even be eating food or not carrying about self and then, at the end of the day you feel impurity, defiled, self-loathing. We're all different but still yet have similarities. Make mistakes as soon as possible. Then you'll start learning and bettering yourself and Be unique and stay better. Love you, love yourself. Beloved

It's funny that you mention not to interfere with their skateboarding. When my son asked for one, I purchased one for him. Minutes after he rode it he broke his arm. After a cast was placed upon him I asked him how he felt about the incident. He said something like "I should have been paying attention." Which I responded that I was happy that he learned this lesson.

"The world is a very hard place and it's a bitter place in many ways. And it's not only a hard and bitter place it's also touched with betrayal and malevolence and that's the fundamental bottom line. But there's something in you that is capable of taking that full on and transcending it." ~ Jordan Peterson
