Sit-ups use the hip flexors for the second half of the movement. The psoas hip flexors attach to your lumbar spine which accounts for the back stress. Ab work of any type does not “roast” belly fat. You cannot spot reduce fat through a specific exercise. Body fat is reduced through calorie restriction and the extra caloric demand created through exercise. Belly fat is usually the last of the fat reserves to be consumed.

Thank you so much🥺 You have no idea how much you helped me with this. I try to work out at home and I usually avoid that exercise bcz I end up hurting my back.

First time I have ever felt my core engaged strongly. Thanks for this?

It works! Crunches and sit ups always hurt my neck and back and don’t even really feel like they’re working my core consistently but this is 1000x better

Awesome. Finally an exercise I can try for my core. I never work out my core because sit ups just hurt my back, but. I know I need a stronger core to help my lower back.

Love these simple but effective drills that I can do at home.
Mind you I stopped doing inclined sit-ups at the gym ages ago as so many other drills also engage the abs.

Oh my, that's awesome. I always disliked sit-ups because they never felt comfortable or that I was doing them right. This looks a thousand times easier to do

I got a sixpack in less than 2 months, I do sit ups, and it's variants, you don't have to mess your back and it doesn't have to be painful, also doing them like that won't really target your abs muscles but your core stability, you don't have to go up that much, don't move your lower back, just engage your core and squeeze it pulling your upper torso in.

Insane tip: Do them on your bed, it won't hurt AT ALL and the results will be the same or even better if you have proper form, thank you.
