This is a simple tutorial to fix a frame rate issue in fallout 4 on high refresh rate displays. Such as: 144hz, 165hz, etc.

No special apps or special files required.

Windows display settings, advanced, and then switched my refresh rate down from 165hz to 120hz. These steps in the video along with changing the refresh rate to 120 on my gsync display worked for me.

Thanks for this awesome tutorial bro. I recently bought new gaming laptop that has 144hz. I have a GeForce RTX 3050 ti which apparently doesn't support adaptive vsync so i was not able to do what other methods were telling me to do. No other places had a simple tutorial like yours so i appreciate it a lot. It sucks that Bethesda made it so that it caps at 60fps, even though for me it was capping at 48hz :( which I cant explain why it does that. Anyway, it's weird because Skyrim caps at 60fps without any issues. I guess Fallout 4 is even more broken. I'm currently playing it at 72fps cus i guess thats what's recommended for 144hz. I was playing at 120fps because from what i've read anything above 120fps is when the game starts to bug out and stuff. So far at 120fps everything was good as well. Most likely will keep it at around 72 or 120fps. No issues were reported at all for 72fps too. Again, Thanks for this tutorial. It was extremely helpful

Hello, thank you so much for this tutorial...Fast and easy and very helpful. You deserved a big like for this 1, because I was having like 180 fps and it totally missed my npc dialogues etc. Anyway bit sad that game run so bad with more fps.
