What causes calcium deficiency?
The simple answer is lack of consumption in the diet, but there are other causes for low calcium. A deficiency of calcium can be caused by these 5 things:
1. Highly refined sugar and sodium based diet
2. High level of caffeine through coffee, tea, and energy drinks
3. Alcohol
4. Anti-acids
5.Avoidance of sunshine (vitamin D3 deficiency) leads to calcium malabsorption. Vitamin D is necessary to help the intestines absorb calcium from your food. Without vitamin D, low calcium is predictable.

Others causes or risk factors for poor or low calcium include inflammatory bowel issues, chronic IBS (diarrhea), growing children (need calcium for bone formation).

I for one cannot digest dairy products anymore. I'm eating tofu, edamame, chia seeds, broccoli, etc instead. Seems to work

Dr. Osborne: I'd like to know what you think about Berberine, a supplement that has become very popular because it lowers A1-C.

Please research oxalates - you may want to add them to your list. Oxalates readily bind to calcium making it unavailable to you. Information by Sally K Norton has been very eye opening to me. High oxalate foods include grains, nuts(especially almonds), most seeds, spinach, Swiss chard, beets, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.

Only just realised I have the symptoms, mine keeps going down, I only eat small amounts of sugar and salt. You could mention kidney dysfunction or that the kidneys are not handling the excess sugar and salt.
